Devil Fish (Blu-ray upgrade)

Bear with me on this one:

   Thanks a million to Riffling for the remux of this. At first I was surprised how much was out of sync and then discovered there's two cuts of this movie. The blu-ray is the original Italian one (called "Monster Shark") and looks like a perfectly competent movie, and there's an American cut (called "Devil Fish") that was used for MST3K and seems to have been edited by a drunk person. So instead of rearranging the MST audio to fit the Italian cut, I decided to try to edit the original Italian movie here to match the American cut as best I could and keep the MST audio the same. Didn't realize what a headache it would be. One problem- the American cut has all those goofy close up bits of the monster, and that's not in the Italian cut. It has a grand total of about six seconds of footage of the monster underwater, so I was recycling it as much as I could to fill in the gaps. Hopefully it's passable, because I'm not holding my breath for the American cut to get a blu-ray release soon. It's 3Gb and got the MST3K audio and the original audio on the second track.

The video looks sooooo much better.

It is really amazing how many of the MSTs had terrible video quality.

And now we can finally see what's behind the MST globe that pops up on the screen hiding the crotch of our hero.

My pleasure! And great call on that scene with the Globe, bsg. I totally forgot all about that. Let's just call getting that in HD a bonus. By the way, I forgot to mention the one change I added was putting the "Devil Fish" title back in. So it'll have the American title I added, and then a little later the Italian title.
And I'm actually working on that WakkoBlues. Give me just a little more time..

Any chance somebody can make the Herod version available again? My MST3K copy is awful and I'd love the upgrade. Thanks in advance, and if at all possible I'll keep it available in my Mega for the next couple of months at least!

FYI, the GaryInMotion release (720p) is being seeded in bsg's thread and that one has the riffs retrofitted to match the original movie edit. I think that one is a better option especially if you can get access to the blu-ray (and will likely be better in the future if they do a better blu-ray or a 4K release)
