Think back to when you had the first CD-reader, and think back before we had the Internet or Wikipedia: which reference software did you use, if you've used one.
I'm just doing some experiments on installing CD-ROM encyclopaedias onto the Windows 3.1 sitting on the DOSBox. I hope it works.
Which CD-ROM encyclopaedias, if at all, did you use and like?

I still have copy of encarta, not cd, but dvd, that is Microsoft Encarta 2009 Premium.
now I have very rarely used it.

My Creative Labs multimedia kit 2 came with Grolier; great content but at the time software wasn't that good - we are talking DOS.
The best was Star Trek 25th Anniversary Deluxe CD Edition. So good my punk cousin's even punkier friends stole it. I was pirated!

Mines was Encarta '95. A very robust encyclopaedia if I may say so myself.

Microsoft Encarta was what I used... That isn't to say the others were bad, but Encarta (came with MS Student) was all I was exposed to.
