What is a 'safe time' to consider downloading after files have been posted?
Is there a general rule, of say 3 days, where one can reasonably expect that a reported file/uploader would be removed?
It is great to see most of the flooders removed within a day or so!
Clearly the Mods cannot be expected to vet the uploads, just wondering what i can 'reasonably' trust for those I dont have time to sandbox and test myself. (I really dont trust scanners that much).

Download only content, music, movies, tv, ebooks, audio books. Never download software or games. And you won't have an issue.

Good general advice.
Most binary uploaders are fine for games and programs. Though a good rule of thumb is to trust only skulls and perhaps a few well known site owners. Though not always - even the best has had flubs.
Likewise there is an etext uploader who *occasionally* will post a rar (or zip) where the title is an EXE, but the actual etext is included in a hidden directory. I personally dont consider this a problem, as i can see everything clear as day on FAR. but others may not be so lucky.

Better yet, 48 hours. Give the mods, and the fools who rush in, a chance to find and flag/delete the crap first.
Added bonus 1: if the seeder has any problems that also gives them time to sort them out before they impact you.
Added bonus 2, particularly with popular content: the seed/leech ratio will be much better after a day or two so your download will complete much faster.
Risking to sound obviously wrong, but in good faith I ask...
Can TPB have a "recent torrents" 48h+ option? I want to check on the new torrents on my favorite categories in better ways.
Scrolling down the huge ammount of recent torrents is too hard for a lazy pirate like me.
Thanks!
Filtering was suggested a couple times and in such form... vetted
I mean, so far no one came with a viable form to deal with it; current procedures will stay.

Dude, the only reason I got a torrent client is to drench in games... The rest is bonus.

I just seen a few examples where one person uploaded a bunch of stuff on a given day, but never uploaded anything previous to that day that to me is a red flag.
I mainly read the comments if there are any, see what others are experiencing... If the torrent is brand new and there are no comments, go into the uploader, and get a history of comments on other uploads. Try to see what the U/L pattern is like.
These are just guidelines that I use but not rules. For the safest bet I would think that you probably WILL have to set aside time to sandbox and test them out.

I usually give it about 1-3 days.
I always try to consider who uploaded, and what they uploaded.

Likewise; those are good guidelines. And waiting for the web or rip is better than most cams anyway.
Won't work for other types like games and anon uploaders, but they're becoming so lazy it's relatively easy to spot.

That advice makes no sense. There are fakes uploaded to all categories all the time. But I would guess that 'movies' and then probably 'games' are the most faked, so that advice is just terrible.
The best thing to do is look for skulls, as some others said. Those will be real. And as LZA said, read the comments.

In general, good advice. In reality the use of Steganography makes it possible to hide anything within anything r.e. downloads.
My rules:
1. Run any download through a VM
2. Monitor all traffic and processes during and once download complete
3. Run/Open download within sandboxed VM with picture state taken and host/guest Network Adapters disabled
I do only this when source i can never be confirmed as safe.

TPB does have VIP & trusted stickers for a reason.
Just be aware you still have to check them but they should be better somewhat.
