WARNING!! EZTV.AG REALLY IS AN UNDERCOVER OPERATION
#1
Hello everyone. The torrent community may remember when EZTV was taken down by the government in April of 2015. It later came back, but many people suspected it was an undercover sting operation to catch downloaders.

Well thepiratebay was down yesterday (today too) so I went to EZTV.ag in order to get my shows for the day.

I immediately got a letter and my ISP banned me. Luckily I got my ISP to turn on my internet again, I said it wasn't me.

Of course, the first problem is that I accessed the site without my VPN (which I already have) and also second I downloaded the torrent without the VPN (since torrent downloads over VPN are hideously slow).

Well, I just needed to warn the torrent community about this. DO NOT visit EZTV.ag, and WHATEVER YOU DO, do NOT download any torrents from EZTV.ag!!

While it may be that EZTV torrents found on other sites may or may not be safe, the FACT is that EZTV.ag website is DEFINITELY tracked and an undercover sting operation!

I hope this helps you all!!

Only way you would get a notice is if your IP is in the clear when downloading the actual file from bittorrent.

You should be using a VPN when downloading torrents. You are not doing anything wrong by going to eztv. They can't touch you unless you are downloading a torrent. Only thing you do on eztv is get a magnetic link.

oh ffs

I'm going to leave this nonsense here for others* to tear to shreds but if you go plastering this crap all over the place as I suspect you plan on doing I will shut you down.

It's not a site I would ever recommend to anyone, for reasons which I've posted about previously, but this sort of poisonous misinformation is the work of undercover operators. You're either one of them or you're a total fucking moron.

You should be using a service like Torguard or a VPN when downloading torrents.  You are not doing anything wrong by going to eztv.  They can't touch you unless you are downloading a torrent.  Only thing you do on extv is download a magnetic link.

Doesn't change the fact that EZTV.ag is an undercover sting operation. I don't get letters when downloading even with exposed IP from thepiratebay (usually). The one time I visit EZTV to get a torrent I immediately get a letter. The result is clear.

Soooo let me get this straight....you went to a site and clicked on a link and immediately (after you started downloading the torrent) you got a notice. Yea, it's pretty clear alright...lol.

You're full of shit.

You don't get letters for visiting web sites. You get letters because your IP was spotted in a swarm in which case it doesn't matter where you start the torrent from.

Boom. You have to be actively downloading for the billionaires to come after you with The Law. And even then, they don't know it's you. They only know (as you yourself discovered) that it's somebody on your IP that did it.

"Many people suspected" is a very, very bad prescription for intelligent fact gathering. Many people suspect a range of things, and many of those are built on unwarranted assumptions. A careful consideration of the facts will beat mob beliefs every time, unless they're approaching you with torches and pitchforks. In which case, run like hell.

"the FACT is that EZTV.ag website is DEFINITELY tracked and an undercover sting operation!"

You've yet to present any evidence that this is the case. I'd suggest you're jumping to conclusions because you're excited and angered about what's happened, and it's clouding your ability to think things over coolly. Calm down, and start again. Anger makes all of us appear to be fools, when we're only being human.

I think it's lovely of the FBI to run such a service for the benefit of everyone in the world living beyond the borders of 'murica: providing billions of people outside of that legal jurisdiction with free and unrestricted access to the overpriced and overrated products of the US television networks.

Given the FBI's success running child porn servers, they wanted to try their hand at pirate TV.

Newer content generally has a higher risk of copyright trolls joining the swarm.
EZTV is a pretty well known torrent site and has a lot of new torrents posted all the time.
