i think this should be the right place to ask this since it has to do something with censorship if not you mods can move to the right place
i have been hearing about windows 10 blocking thepiratebay and torrenting.
i know they can block pirated content but how can they block the downloading?
i also know that some sites are blocking the use of windows 10 on the sites over the spying features and i was wondering how a site can detect windows 10?

Websites can detect your OS because your browser sends informations about it trough headers.
Headers = strings containing the requests and other options requested by browser/server
Teoretically, they are not allowed to block torrenting!
About TPB... I have no idea..
I use Windows XP and 7

You can read more about the blocking myths here:

and read this one too, because it's highly likely these myths will be perpetuated by the media for some time:

Windows 10 does not block piracy, if you read the EULA you'll see that it only applies to the Xbox Live and Windows Store. So, Windows 10 will not block your pirate content, don't worry about that.
"Microsoft's Services EULA is different from the one governing Windows (Microsoft Software License Terms), which means that the amendments Microsoft added recently were to protect against counterfeiting of Xbox Live and Windows Store content, and not monitoring (or disabling) illicit content on Windows 10."
And regarding websites blocking W10 users from accessing, that's just silly.... people are getting way too paranoid with this sh*t. But this might be possible to "hide", websites may use the browser's User Agent to see the OS in use, maybe messing with the User Agent does the trick, and then there's also JavaScript which also provides OS info.

I have windows 10, and I am still able to download and get all my pirated games and software.
Microsoft watches only pirated content on xbox and games for windows - everything else is ignored.
Just avoid downloading pirated microsoft products, and anything that uses games for windows, and you will be fine.

I have been using a pirated version of Windows 10 without any problems.
It does not block torrenting nor stop you from accessing The Pirate Bay, but I am unable to download and use Windows Store apps.
Since operating systems are so big, I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft knew it was a pirated version.

I would install 7 or 8 using an activator. Then obtain the free upgrade to 10, which has you make a Microsoft account after. Then format and clean install Windows 10. As long as you remember your Microsoft account info it will activate automatically. Now you have a clean Windows 10 ISO. It worked for me when I installed 7 Ultimate 32bit, 10 Pro 32bit, 10pro 64bit. I have access to all features of Windows 10 Pro.

An interesting idea.
I'm due for a reformat pretty soon, and will try it.
