I don't believe that's true. I use uMatrix to disable Javascript and I get pop ups in Firefox. I also tried uBlock Origin's popup blocker and it doesn't work either. You can believe whatever you want, but if you actually disabled javascript then the code that opens the windows won't be executed. So dig a little deeper into those settings because if you are getting pop ups, you haven't disabled javascript.

For some reason every time I click a link on thepiratebay.org it opens a new pop in a window giving me some stupid spam crap and then the download link can't be clicked. It pops up ads about stupid VPN and other dumb shit. Started today. Never did it before.
