'High Hopes' finds Bruce Springsteen in a number of different musical settings, and includes the E Street Band members in various large and small combinations as well as guitarist Tom Morello on eight tracks. Besides Morello, the album also includes appearances on several songs by Clarence Clemons, who passed away in 2011, and Danny Federici, who passed away in 2008, on what Springsteen calls "some of our best unreleased material from the past decade." The album was recorded in New Jersey, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Australia and New York City and marks Springsteen's 18th studio album. As Bruce writes in the albums liner notes, "I felt they were among the best of my writing and deserved a proper studio recording."

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart will release their third album, Days of Abandon, on April 22. It will be their first for new label Yebo Music. Frontman Kip Berman says the new record will not be a continuation of Belong's big, uber-'90s sound: I didn't want to make Belonger. This album was a chance to step back from that universal style of songwriting to something that was far more personal, more in keeping with my original ideals. I wanted the music to be joyful and full of light, even if the subjects were often dark.

Conor Oberst's new album Upside Down Mountain is due out in May. In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, Oberst talked about paring down certain elements for the record's new direction. "I don't relate to a lot of my earlier songs," he said. "They were extremely verbose. That might be cathartic when you're doing it, but it doesn't necessarily hold up."

Artist: Del Amitri
Title: Into the Mirror: Del Amitri Live in Concert
Official Release: oct 2014
Cover: front
Bitrate: 320 kbps, joint stereo

01. Always the Last to Know
02. KIss This Thing Goodbye
03. The Ones That You Love Lead You Nowhere
04. Just Like a Man
05. What I Think She Sees
06. Not Where It’s At

12. Nothing Ever Happens
13. Roll to Me
14. Driving With the Brakes On
15. Hammering Heart
16. Spit in the Rain
17. Stone Cold Sober
18. Being Somebody Else
19. Drunk in a Band
20. In the Meantime
21. Here and Now
22. Just Before You Leave
23. Move Away Jimmy Blue

It has been over a decade since Del Amitri disbanded becoming yet another in a long line of footnotes in the history of pop music. After nearly 12 years of prodding from their ardent fan base, Justin Currie and Ian Harvie reformed their fearsome five-piece and hit the road for a series of UK tour dates. The result of those dates is Into the Mirror, the first live album in the 30-year history of Del Amitri.
The album itself is a masterpiece collection of some of the 1990’s greatest and most overlooked pop songs. Currie is likely the most underrated songwriter of his generation and his brilliant story telling comes through tune after tune. The band is tight and energetic and each performance ranks as the best live version of the individual songs ever released. Justin’s voice is in rare form as he nails the climax in “Here and Now” like never before.

Artist: Mark Lanegan Band
Title: Phantom Radio
Official Release: oct 2014
Cover: front
Bitrate: 320 kbps, stereo

1. Harvest Home
2. Judgement Time
3. Floor Of The Ocean
4. The Killing Season
5. Seventh Day
6. I Am The Wolf
7. Torn Red Heart
8. Waltzing In Blue
9. The Wild People
10. Death Trip To Tulsa

With a long, unbroken run of excellent recordings including collaborations with Queens of the Stone Age and Isobel Campbell, Mark Lanegan deserves elevation to the front rank of modern rock artists. Phantom Radio may be the album to finally force that shift in public perception. Unlike most gothic pop, Lanegan’s art is not a matter of fashion or mascara: it’s a genuine cri du coeur, as rare and beautiful as anything in music.

Known to bootleg collectors as Nassau Night, this 38-song concert was recorded during the final gig of a three-night stand. In addition to the usual concert staples, Springsteen and the E Street Band spotlighted several songs from The River that would rarely be played on subsequent tours. Shortly before midnight, Springsteen killed a bit of time with a cover of Wilson Pickett’s “In the Midnight Hour,” which was followed by “Auld Lang Syne.”
Nassau Night had also gained fame among Springsteen bootleg collectors as the longest show in his history. Not including the intermission, the New Year’s Eve concert runs three hours and 47 minutes. That record stood until 2012, when he closed out his European tour by playing four hours and six minutes — without leaving the stage — in Helsinki, Finland. Other highlights include E Street Band keyboardist Roy Bittan playing a snippet of “Once Upon A Time in the West” as an intro the first-pumping “Badlands” and the crowd-pleasing “Rosalita” to close out the main set of the 38-song concert

In general, this record shows a return to simplicity, with songs structured around a melody and a few instruments, with live drums playing a far lesser role. With the growing success of Teen Dream and Bloom, the larger stages and bigger rooms naturally drove us towards a louder, more aggressive place; a place farther from our natural tendencies. Here, we continue to let ourselves evolve while fully ignoring the commercial context in which we exist.

After five years, the "trfkad flac series" is back with this special release: acclaimed jazz guitarist Nguyen Le celebrating Pink Floyd masterpiece The Dark Side of the Moon.

Nguyên Lê is a magician; his art reveals itself not only in his own compositions but also in his celebrations of the music of the past, where his approach to the latter resembles sculptures made of new clay. He's a flamboyant guitarist and, while he shows courteous deference to his source material, he has always expressed the full diversity of an imaginary world engendered by his own history, that of a nomad, self-taught virtuoso: his music feeds on influences embracing all continents, and is painted with colours drawn from jazz, rock, and a kind of world fusion permeated with light. Celebrating The Dark Side Of The Moon demonstrates that the imagination of Nguyên Lê has indeed risen to power; it is no simple tribute to a record which made history. It fervently expresses the re-creation exempt from all imitation of a score which you can hear in filigree. Lê produced and arranged the album, and adds five tracks of his own, interspersing the Pink Floyd material. Korean singing sensation Youn Sun Nah adds dramatic vocals and Michael Gibbs provides the orchestration.
