[split] Which VPN Providers Take Anonymity Seriously?
#1
I started an account on BTGuard from your recommendations but I'm no computer guru and after following all the steps I do have a Canadian IP but i cant get torrents to work. I downloaded the "BTGuard_Torrent_IP_Check" and it says under trackers: proxy connect error: Error -4. I also have Peerblock 1.2 software which I tried both on and off with no change. I used magnet to download a torrent and nothing is downloading in utorrent.

Do you think you can provide me any insights? I would greatly appreciate it and wont feel I wasted 10 bucks. Thanks in Advance!

Error: I could not see your service on 104.254.92.XXX on port (80)

Reason: Connection refused

How do I open my port?

Check BTGuard P2P configuration, it should provide you with a p2p port number which you configure in your bittorrent client and download begins

I am currently using switchvpn , you can check their free trial , you only require email.

Check this, Port forwarded "51002" , now you enter this port in your bittorrent settings and you will see now green tick and after that visit canyouseeme.org and enter port 51002 it should say success which means now peers can connect.

I copied all the utorrent settings and followed every instruction and nothing changed, nothing is downloading. I dont know what to do next and submitting a ticket has been waiting for 3 days with no response, I know their is something Im not doing right but the more things I find on the support website and change on my computer the more I feel Im messing things up.

I just understand why when you pay for a service  it should be very easy to setup and use, even with some computer knowhow.

The VPN seems to be working fine but nothing is downloading in utorrent. help >.<

Looks like you can't make outgoing UDP connections. Your VPN, or more likely your system configuration is preventing that.

Is that fixable? how?

Of course it is fixable.

If you turn off your VPN and your torrent client starts working, the problem is the VPN. I don't expect that to be the case, but it is a quick and easy test.

Otherwise, the problem is whatever you are using as a firewall. Configure it to allow your torrent client to create outgoing UDP connections, and accept UDP connections on whatever port you have set the client to listen on. Being able to create outgoing UDP connections is an absolute requirement for using TPB magnet links.
