[split] Latest Realtek HD Audio drivers for PC
#1
Hello! I have realtek high audio definition on my pc and would like to know your opinion on whether you think it is a good sound card or not. The problem that I am having with it, not sure if it is my sound or video card, it tends to make a robotic noise whenever I am watching any movies from youtube or from vlc player. I have checked my driver from the device manager and it says updated. Would appreciate some insights into this problem.

I think it's just a generic driver.

I'll have a look see of my drivers to see what they are.

I'm sure it's just a matter of selecting a generic driver.

Anyone?

EDIT: Meanwhile, see if another audio device works. There are USB devices that connect to the port on your computer and play sound. They're about $9 in Canadian.

I have experienced the same issue on a laptop. Almost the same specs: Realtek HD audio. AMD processor.

My bet is that the problem occurs when the system is too overloaded. Of course, checking for up-to-date drivers is a very good idea. But don't think it's a driver issue. More like a hardware one.

Thanks for the information but is realtek a very common sound card? It seems to be on all my computers and in your opinion, is this a good sound card?

I have Realtek on my PC and I've never experienced any issues with it.

Realtek is a common (and a good) sound card provided by Realtek Semiconductor Corporation. A quick search about Realtek company should prove it's popularity.

I am just wondering if it is the video card instead that is making a noise?

Hey guys!

I forgot how to go about in posting a new thread here but my problem at the moment is that when I am watching a movie with VLC player, I realised that at times, the movie will not display any colours and this is more evident when I try to forward or rewind a scene. I have downloaded movies from rarbg and I don't think it is the quality of the movies. Is it a VLC problem?

For the audio problems, do you watch through a HDMI cable too?

If your speakers and audio peripheral devices work properly.

Try downloading the audio driver here: realtek.com/downloads/Default.aspx
And install KLite codec just in case

Don't forget to check the audio settings in the player (VLC,etc.) or your OS (microphone/line-in,etc.).
