Hey guys!
I have been using torrents for a while and noticed that for certain torrents, downloading one at a time will result in better speed than others. Is this usually the case or does it depends on how active people are? I guess if the torrent is not very active, then I should download one at a time?

its based on the number of seeders for the most part the other limit is what your client is set to. but I would recommend doing 1 or 2 downloads at a time max as the more you have the bigger your foot print on your ISP's network (well unless your a business but still) Also it will limited to your max band with that your ISP has for you if you even get close to that speed with enough seeders.

When torrent is well seeded (seed to leech ratio is over 1.5), download one at a time as they are usually in high speeds.
When torrent is poorly seeded (seed to leech ratio is below 1.5), add more as they are usually in low speeds.

Some clients can do "change gears" automatically. Limit to one torrent download but also set a bandwidth threshold like "more downloads if <75% being used".

Most clients have an auto management system with one or two clients having auto stop also so you can add as many torrents as you need and then turn on these features and let the client pick the best speeds and states for the torrents you have based on the health of the torrents themselves.

The only time I download just one torrent, is if it is well seeded and I want that torrent right away.
Otherwise, if you're not waiting on something specific and don't care when you get it, just as long as you get it, why not download a whole bunch at a time?
Like a rotisserie chicken, just set it and forget it.

My case now with QBitTorrent: I've a big and slow torrent and if I open another one, the former near stops, so I can have only the first active or it will never finish; qBT has a bandwidth management problem. Tixati is much smarter with that and has real traffic priority.
So, need effective management, look for an advanced client.

You can download the torrent files at once and add them to the torrent download client at once and download them at the same time. ... For better, you can download one by one. It won't also slow your connection speed. But if you will download both at the same time if also affect your connection speed and also take lots of time.
