Considered lost until 1981 when the original cut was found hiding in a Janitor's

This is the 'Lo Duca' cut of Carl Theodor Dreyer's film (featuring an alternate
edit and soundtrack) which was, for decades, the only version available
before the rediscovery of Dreyer's original cut in a janitors closet in
a Norwegian hospital.
