penalty for funding a torrent

i recently funded a torrent in a forum. i paid a guy to buy dvd with copyright and he uploaded it. would you know what penalties i can get for that?

i tried googling it but all i can see are either for downloading or uploading, and not for funding an upload.

If you don't tell everyone you know, you should be fine.

If you're talking about legality, you paid. In the face of the law, you did the "right" thing.

EDIT: If you're looking for an excuse to pay the guy, you can say, "Christmas gift;" that's a legitimate excuse if you ask me. If it's a gift, it's your responsibility to what you do with it until you give it away. Then, it's his responsibility once he receives it.
