one hit wonders
Blue Swede's cover of the B.J. Thomas song "Hooked on a Feeling" (1974)

They took their microphone and spanked B.J. Thomas with it and made an international hit.  It was big in the 70's.  You had to be there.

So who doesnt understand how one-hit wodners work? Tongue

daniel, Gary Moore isn't a one hit wonder either. Even if we exclude Thin Lizzy tracks, there's also "Over the Hills and Far Away", and I think "Empty Rooms" also faired pretty well

According to billboard, 'take on me' was number one and the 'sun' song was number 20.

So I suppose it was at least a semi-hit, and I just listened to that song, and I can tell you that I don't remember it, and I bet that 99.9% of the people here don't remember it either.

I guess I can clarify that I mean one hit wonders in the U.S. if that helps.

anyway, here's another good one.

Here's one that I heard the other day at a gas station or something, but it's been sort of stuck in my head since then.

Very old, but still catchy.

It's actually sort of prophetic, like Wall-e. One of the best movies ever, btw everyone should watch that.
Here are 2 more.

I edited your post to include the vids.

Personally I've never heard the first one, but I've always liked the second one a lot.

My contribution is this...

A remake, but the bow wow wow version was much better.

Also for all you pedos out there, in this vid the singer was 14. And on the album cover she was 13. So go do your thing, then kill yourselves. Or if you just like the song, go dance or something.

Was one of my favourites... Needless to say, my mum still loves it...
One more.
The Blackbyrde- walking in rhythm.

Haven't heard that for years, and I forgot all about it, but I always liked that song.

Here's a semi one-hit wonder. I love it but...whatever!

^^^^ HEHEHEHEHHEHE I'm old enough to know that song BEFORE Farrell got to it... I don't say Kattan since I don't respect him, he  stole people's ideas at SNL...

Here is my latest offering to the list. I apologize if this is redundant... I didn't check back to see if it was posted.

I'm also proud to admit, at 44. I can turn Japanese an average of 3 times a day still... In fact, I just did!!!   Wink
