Nord should be a lot better. You want a VPN that doesn't log your connections. Also has a lot to do with where your VPN is based (head office) and the laws fall under that place or country.
I'm sure now that with Nord you will be fine, let's hope..

VPNs don't leak. If you got a warning from your ISP, it is because you were not running your torrent client through your VPN.
It is also incorrect to believe not seeding makes you invisible. Just being in the swarm makes you visible to everyone else regardless of whether or not you are uploading, and not seeding harms the swarm because now someone else has to pick up the slack to keep the swarm alive.

I have been using Nord for 5+ years - nothing from my ISP and I seed all night.
Make sure to setup the kill switch to close your torrent client if the VPN takes a network hit.

newtotorrenting, most VPN sites will offer instructions on how to do that.
Just log in there and see if I'm right.

Yes - the instructions are different for each torrent client and VPN service.
Generally it revolves around binding your torrent client to the network interface created by the VPN.

Redirecting your traffic through your VPN connection is what he means, instead of through a normal connection that your internet provider usually supplies you with.
