iTunes listed as source, yet it is MP3?
#1
Hi, I have a bit of a strange question but I have been wondering about it for a while.

I notice that many music torrents (in general, not just on TPB), especially singles, identify iTunes as the source, yet the file format is 320 kbps MP3. As far as I know, 256 kbps AAC is the standard for iTunes. This begs the question, then, as to why the individuals feel the need to convert it into MP3?

Thanks to anyone who can answer this!

because those torrents are more popular, more people download higher bitrate MP3 files. nevermind the fact they are terrible upconverts.

because mp3 works the best I guess. Also I believe aac stores different bits than mp3 does, so saving it as a 256kb mp3 would make it lose even more stuff than 320kb mp3
