"This basically formalizes what was already happening under the radar."
A part of me wants to feel better about that fact considering I watch vids on [insert not-corporate approved sites], use mega and make forum threads against tpp but I'm still here to make this thread.
Shit is still wrong. By the time someone steps up against this and succeeds I'll be old or dead.

How many data points do Americans need before they wake up and realize that their government is a profound source of evil? Here you have the shredding of the 4th amendment. Happily rubber stamped by some secret court. Happily, I renounced years ago.

This is part of the reason we (Americans) need to take steps to limit the information at the source, by restricting what the NSA even collects. But so many people are willing to throw their freedom away to combat "TERRORISM!".

oh please, unless you're downloading child pornography or communicating to execute terrorist attacks, you should have nothing to worry about with your data being in the hands of the NSA or the sort.

that's just liberal bull crap I hear from time to time, what you post/upload on the Internet doesn't belong to you anymore, you're fucking retarded if you think the info/data you have on the Internet should be kept "private", i mean for fuck's sake man, grow some balls and don't be such a pussy with your information

sure we can't prevent every terrorism plot from happening, but what if one was prevented and there was your loved one/family member in the vicinity? would your "freedom" have been worth it? the privacy of pirating or having a affair online? is that worth more than what really matters?

There is a story told by a man who is now deceased, not through any tyranny, but just old age.

He describes some years of hardship not unlike the austerity we see being imposed now. He also describes a census that they filled out every year. One year the census had an extra question for their religion. Without a thought he completed the forms as he had always done.

He tells the story through floods of tears as he apologizes for not knowing what the question would be used for. How in hindsight it was used to compile a list of people to segregate, demonize and ultimately persecute. He tearfully explained that if he knew, he would have told his neighbors to lie on the questionnaire. If only he knew what they would do with that one question!. Millions of people died because of a single question that they answered truthfully.

This man was wracked with guilt over his past. He has done nothing wrong. It is arguable if he could have made any difference at all or whether had he told people they would have believed him. But he was a loving caring individual and was ashamed at what he allowed through his own ignorance.

Don't be that guy!

... It has become a foreign concept, once known to man. ;) :)

Today, under the guise of 'war on terror' - in actuality: The Perpetuum Mobile Terror War unleashed upon the world - your world, as well as our world; because as much as they try to propagate the idea of the 'global village', we could not be more isolated today, each sitting behind their computer screen, being fed information - we are all victims of their insanity.

Do you really think that a jihadist wakes up today, ready to go blow themselves up - for the greater good, or something, because they want to die. No, man... Such a person only exists because they were created, cause and effect: much like The Matrix.

Their families, their world, they have been raped, robbed, murdered and thus driven to that desperate end... They are there, as a tool, so that any time - any where - a CIA project may abduct, brainwash, blackmail, strap a vest to them and have them hold on to that button, with a STRONG spring and they will hold it down, for they want to live. How do we know, what is really going on, tell me? xD

^^ When new funding is needed, when a new war -simply- must be waged, in order to back the trillion-dollar-deficit and increasing interest loans - which are barely holding-together the world markets, from total disintegration - the way the (current) system has been built. How can we know.

(Ofc., there are crazy fanatics - I'm not trying to tell you that I'm a complete idiot; but, there are -also- many and also hidden facets of that decision cube)

you know....
somewhere in Syria and sometimes this day..some ISIS high echelon are accessing his porntube-xhamster accounts...perhaps the one that got higher ranks than him are clicking some Western Europe escort sites....

Jihadist are mindless automaton puppets where the puppeteers are actually bunch of peoples sitting in their cozy room surfing the interwebz for funds and some porn while having some mid-range prostitutes giving them a blowjob under the desk which led them to some social media sites where some low self esteem 3rd world immigrants teenager spent most of their time to so called speak your mind kind a bullshit, which is led them to get either recruited as an extra projectiles of their kaboombanger dakka dakka fetishes or organic sentient ATM or...personal webcam models for privates fapping use.

ironic how the thing called the internet for at first to be dreamed of freedom of information sharing and knowledge turned into either Capitalist money hunger machines or the death dealer gangbang orgy clubs....I mi the days when a nipple slip photo's on email can cause a huge uproar....

Just FYI: this is a great site for in-depth coverage of how the US security services are lying and thriving at eating away our privacy, day by day. Emptywheel really knows her subject, and she's as cynical as they come.
