"i did the backup as you say, but i didn't do backup as an iso file": lol

"i was told make it mpeg": kill the person who told you that.

"so, my goal is to (preferred) get the files from ripping it, then use my movie edit pro, i like the menus they have": so your goal is not to see the movies, but to use that shitty software?

DVD with dvdshrink to ISO, and burn the ISO with nero. This way you could "play it on my dvd player to watch in the living room".

Over and out.

from your laughing, okay, got what you are saying to me, do it as an iso

the mpeg, mep said that as it decreases the burn time. and no, the goal is to see the movie, but they have cool intro's on that software.

I don't have nero, can i get a whole season onto one disc with windows dvd maker??

you said over and out, but i hope you'll continue to help me??

i updated the ripper as the file says, yes you can update, then the email in the file has been banned.

Is it a good idea to uninstall and reinstall and not update then?

Plus, i am curious, have you used this?

i'm copying now and am going to aim for burning with this software as i like the menus and options they have.

If you have used it, what's your best method?

dvdshrink in meant to copy the dvd to a DVD-R (DVD-R 5 or 9). Doing this you can use your regular dvd-player because the format is the same. A recordable disc costs 15 cents on amazon.
When you select "Backup!" (rip the dvd) it asks you what file format do you want, then you select ISO image. Doing it this way, you obtain one ISO file that can be burnt with any program (nero, imgburn, etc). Even more, this ISO file can be played with vlc, so you don't need to burn it if you don't want to, and play it directly.
ISO is better than separate files (VOB), but even if you have VOB files, you can burn them using dvdfav, imgburn, etc. Select DVD-video and not DVD-data.

If you want to rip to avi or mp4, use dvdfav. For converting video formats, use handbrake.

Be more specific about your problems, and relax. Wink

wow, what a difference between vob and iso, much better!!
