dvd shrink and img burn
#1
so, i have to create a new thread and not hop onto someone else's problem, so, i'm trying to do the right thing, very frustrated here and upset. chest pains too, be nice please. i'm not interested in being in the hospital from a heart attack, been trying different techniques i get from youtube, been trying for 2 months with many different things to do. i will mention all here now.

i had to do dvd shrink first, on a tv series, done, never renamed the files, saved them to external hard drive. i did dvd shrink re author and grabbed the 6 files on the tv series. done.

I have mep=movie edit pro, efforts to make it mpeg for buring are proving the most difficult, been through trouble shooting with them, okay, abandon how i wanted to do it.....!!!!! stupid when the files were perfectly synched, did my know how in the program and audio went out of sync to video, lovely.......

this is after using handbrake, had to convert to avi, and use windows dvd maker, but that takes alot of discs, they burn nicely, but not the best way to save money on the discs, when you're in financial ruin, you don't want that.

last night used vob to mpg, files were horrible, tossed the program, tried to do it with handbrake, format factory and a program suggested by movie edit pro tech help, they said the files were bad. i get my discs from the library.

get img burn, went through the steps to build from file, put into dvd player, disc error.....

i have tried disc image file, disc error on dvd player
i have tried writes files/folders to disc, didn't change their settings, disc error.

i am at 100% so the room is there for the disc in img burn

So, i ask, forgive my postings about this elsewhere, i waited and am trying on my own with help from youtube, of course movie edit pro, can't help with decrypting, so......

and i have waited for answers, none are coming through, now i will try this as i'm desperate and so upset.

please walk me through how i should do this, because something is not right, youtube video's are not current.

the help file that i would assume to be current from img burn, is the same thing as 3 and 1 year old video's on youtube.

i tried not to ask for help, i am determined to get the help i need at this point and have to find out here now.

forums can be very......confusing, with don't post on a topic already there, why did you create another topic, i'm doing the best i can and can't be flopping around like this anymore Sad

so, please someone who is helpful and positive, please get me on the right track, i don't want a heart attack and want to feel i can come here with no drama. i don't like drama. and in trying not to ask here and have had a very negative experience in the past here, trust me it was bad and very judgmental, many didn't blame me when i said, this place, no way!! i am just saying what happened and need to vent that out.

i'm just a person trying to get help and can't be psychic as to what is going to piss someone off.

i have windows 7 home/64 bit sp1

I need someone helpful and nice here and what to do, please no drama or anger again. i like to do the right thing, and appartenly, looking at what i just read in imgburn, create your own question. (other forums, again i have to say, don't like when you do that, they want everything in one place)

i really have to get a resolve on this and will have to ask.

AimerSoft.DVD.Studio.Pack (build 2.4.0.) has everything you'll need to rip and burn DVD's.

Would you happen to know of any video files that teach you this software? i learn best from that.

where can you suggest i upload a new question, as i want to take the files into my video software? it will be a different topic. but still deals with video.

hi there,

dvdshrink in meant to copy the dvd to a DVD-R (DVD-R 5 or 9). Doing this you can use your regular dvd-player because the format is the same. A recordable disc costs 15 cents on amazon.
When you select "Backup!" (rip the dvd) it asks you what file format do you want, then you select ISO image. Doing it this way, you obtain one ISO file that can be burnt with any program (nero, imgburn, etc). Even more, this ISO file can be played with vlc, so you don't need to burn it if you don't want to, and play it directly.
ISO is better than separate files (VOB), but even if you have VOB files, you can burn them using dvdfav, imgburn, etc. Select DVD-video and not DVD-data.

If you want to rip to avi or mp4, use dvdfav. For converting video formats, use handbrake.

Be more specific about your problems, and relax. Wink

Okay, on the note below, this is where i don't like being in forums, it said not to do any more posts, but the whole other part is relating too movie edit pro.

you see, that's why i thought the most sensible thing to do was to start a topic on that as it's separate, how am i to know what's separate and what's not??

this is what adds to the tension of being in forums for me.

mep is Movie Edit Pro and here my subject is not, i need to be clued in and talked too on this, okay?

i did the backup as you say, but i didn't do backup as an iso file. my movie edit pro won't pull that in, it can't read it, so i'm not up on that, any tips? this all got merged into one and i'm told not do anymore posts on it, so, here it all is now.

i was told make it mpeg, filed came out unsynched. can that be a bad disc, when the back up was perfect? see my confusion?

so, i worked with the vob files, 6 of them on season 1, same issue.

handbrake was okay, but none of it is clear as to what made it off sync in movie edit pro (17 plus) to be exact. i even tried handbrake to reformat, it made it worse.

so, my goal is to (preferred) get the files from ripping it, then use my movie edit pro, i like the menus they have. my goal is to play it on my dvd player to watch in the living room.

So, i guess, this can't be done with my video software due to ripping??

No one has told you to stop posting, just to avoid duplicated threads.

"i did the backup as you say, but i didn't do backup as an iso file": lol

"i was told make it mpeg": kill the person who told you that.

"so, my goal is to (preferred) get the files from ripping it, then use my movie edit pro, i like the menus they have": so your goal is not to see the movies, but to use that shitty software?

DVD with dvdshrink to ISO, and burn the ISO with nero. This way you could "play it on my dvd player to watch in the living room".

Over and out.
