changing iphone 6s imei
#1
mods if this is in the wrong place you are welcome to move to right place

i am in the market for an iphone 6s and i have been seeing that there are a bunch of used iphones 6s on ebay with bad imei and i was wondering if anyone has actually tried changing the imei via below google instructions.

Keep pressing the Sleep/Wake button until the iTunes logo and a cable appear on your screen. To complete the process of changing the IMEIcode on your iPhone, type "Ziphone -u -i a 123456789012345" in the command prompt. Enter your new IMEI code. Wait for the program to locate the zibri.dat file.

there is a program for both mac and windows that goes with it but is there another way that does not involve and software (fearing the software may be fake and even virus.

i can get iphone 6s cheaper on ebay but i want to know before i buy one as the last thing i want to do is buy something that someone is just trying to unload and it turns out to be a brick.

I think it would be worse to be stuck with a stolen phone, even if it works.

Apple Finally Sells Refurbished iPhones

Christina Warren
Yesterday 4:57pm

For years, Apple has offered good deals on refurbished MacBooks, iPads, Apple TVs, and even routers. Now, you can get refurbished iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus directly from Apple.com.

There have been plenty of other ways to buy refurbished iPhones over the years, including retailers like Glyde, Gazelle, and Best Buy—not to mention bidding on the open markets of eBay and Craigslist. But getting a used phone directly from Apple has some distinct advantages.

First, the phones directly from Apple include a brand new outer shell and a new battery. Second, the refurbished phones includes a 1-year warranty, so if something breaks, you can take it back to an Apple Store or call Apple directly.

~~~ yada yada ~~~ ‌ [Now for the interesting bit:]
Right now, Apple is offering the following models/capacities:
   16 GB iPhone 6S - $489
   16GB iPhone 6S Plus - $529
   64GB iPhone 6S Plus - $589
All models are carrier unlocked and SIM-free, so they’ll work on any network.
If you’re willing to take your chances on the open market, you can certainly get a used iPhone for less money—but it won’t be certified and won’t have a warranty. If you’re going to buy a used iPhone from anyone, you should probably just buy it from Apple.
I'm not into their walled-garden regime but if you want in, Apple just opened a door for you. ‌ ‌  Big Grin
