Many thanks to ocagwdwv for the share of the s13e02 web stream!
The Reddit live watch thread had some mentions about the audio balance improving so I did some quick film/riff dialog comparisons for various MST3Ks:
film-riff=db.difference
10.6-09.7=00.9 s03e03.PodPeople
15.0-12.8=02.2 s08e20.SpaceMutiny
10.7-05.5=05.2 s11e06.Starcrash (s11/s12 bluray 5.1 mst sound very nice with the riffs in center channel)
18.9-05.3=13.6 s13e02.RobotWars-Gizmo (not good!)
So I did the audio processing like Santo and Manos and did a s13e02.RobotWars-bsg4you measurement on the same 13.6db diff segment I sampled for s13e02.RobotWars-Gizmo:
09.5-10.4=-0.9 s13e02.RobotWars-bsg4you
The 9.5 film audio peaks do not sound quite so loud but, overall, the s13e02 processed audio is much closer to the riff volume. This is only one quick film/riff audio sample from each audio track but I think it is representative of the processing from each era. I really hope Joel and Company get a sound engineer to work the audio over before the BluRay release.
Request: I mistakenly deleted ocagwdwv's first s13e01 Santo mp4 and the Manos event mp4 so I can not compare the Gizmo s13e02 audio track to their previous two streams.
If anyone has these mp4s or, better yet, just the demuxed with MKtoolNix m4a audio tracks and can share them, that'd be much appreciated! I've already archived the s13e02 ocagwdwv very kindly shared in multiple places with SAVE in the filename.
As with all bsg4you shares, please try to use the magnet to p2p it and only file locker it temporarily if some really needs it. Thanks!
