UPDATE: s12.hevc has been reposted with the correct filenames, huge thanks to DrOzymandias!!! Corrected links and magnet are below

Here are 4x new shares (links below) of MST3K BluRay encodes in both AVC/x264 and HEVC/x265 formats:

s11 x264 - 22h02m11s 59.8GB The Return AVC-AC3
s11 x265 - 22h02m11s 42.0GB The Return HEVC-AAC

s12 x264 - 08h07m35s 22.9GB The Gauntlet AVC-AC3
s12 x265 - 08h07m35s 14.9GB The Gauntlet HEVC-AAC

AFAIK, these are the only BluRay shares for s11 and s12.

Artsy stuff:

tl;dr - I started off liking the new MST and now I love it!

Initially, I liked new MST but 3x things bugged me:
1) Baron and Hampton sounded too similar
2) the riffs sometimes come so fast they seem crammed in
3) no old cast as regular performers, especially no Trace who is my fave

Time has passed and since the lock down I've cycled through MST from KTMA to s12 a number of times, sometimes hitting 5-6x per day.

And I love love love the new MST now and my feelings have evolved about my former reservations:
1) I can tell new Tom and new Crow apart no problem now; watching enough did the trick
2) I expect lots of riffs now! Watching many older MSTs, even post-s1 shows, seems to not have enough jokes now
3) I've read about the old vs new cast issue with new MST and have come to agree with Joel that new performers are the way to go

I really love the new s11/s12 cast and Baron is now my all time fave Tom! I also like the vibe between Jonah and the Bots; it's a good balance between Joel the Parent and Mike the Punching Bag. For the old cast, many did make cameos and do writing for some episodes. And in the recent MST3K Social Distancing Riff-Along Special I really liked Emily and the new crew so new can be good. I can't wait for s13 or whatever Joel and Shout are able to cook up.

Techie stuff:

I had already done AVC and HEVC encodes of the s11 BluRays but I varied the RF quality level to compensate for big variations in the episode sources. In particular, both Wizards Of The Lost Kingdoms film have tons of video noise which causes the encoder to toss lots of bits into the encode trying to render all the little noise dots accurately. This would make the Wizards encode sizes balloon so for the old s11 encodes I raised the Wizards RF values (which lowers the quality) to keep the size down.

For this new s11 release, I researched denoise filters and did extensive testing using NLMeans and it's various levels of filtering and the different profiles. I settled on NLMeans=Ultralight with the Film profile. That level of filtering significantly lowers the encode size but is very hard or impossible to detect in frame to frame comparisons between no-filter and filter-on encodes.

For both Kingdoms films, I raised NLMeans to Medium and that helped tremendously with the excess noise without significantly impacting film detail that I want to maintain. So, net-net I used NLMeans=Ultralight-Film for all of the encodes except for the Kingdoms eps with have Medium.

For AVC I used rf=21.50 profile=veryslow and for HEVC I used rf=22.25 profile=slow. These settings resulted in about 7-8hour encode times per episode so I did ~3x per day.

The audio was sourced from DTS-HD 5.1 and the subtitles are passthrough from the BluRay (i.e. no OCR). The subtitles note who is riffing: Jonah, Crow, or Tom.

BSG, Thanks for doing this! Been looking for the Gauntlet for a while. Just an FYI, your file names are all wrong on the X265 torrent I downloaded. For example, the file name says Mac And Me but it actually is the film Killer Fish. All 6 movies appear to be mixed-up and have wrong names. The video looks great though Smile

Thank You!
I personally loved season 11 as much as almost any season of old MST. It felt like season 4--my personal fav season. However, for me, it was right around the 2 Wizards movies that it went downhill (IMO). And I just couldn't seem to get anything out of The Gauntlet. I wanted to, but there was no variety in the movies---everything was too recent, no older movies at all.
I rank Yongary, Cry Wilderness, Beast of Hollow Mountain, Reptilicus, Starcrash and Land That Time Forgot among my fav episodes of all time, along with Day The Earth Froze and many other "classic" eps. ...but Christmas That Almost Wasn't and a whole lot of Season 12 are among the ones I cannot sit thru again ever. Once in a while, if I watch an old b&w episode and then follow it with Lords of The Deep or Killer Fish (or Atlantic Rim) it seems much better than I remembered. S12 just needed more variety in the time/era of the movies, IMO. And Ator was honestly painful to get through. It is one case where I think Rifftrax version was probably better. (I think the live Rifftrax of Manos is actually better than the classic ep as well, and I am quite the "Joel guy")
Anyway, THANKS for the upload!!

DrOzymandias: huge, big, enormous thanks for catching the s12.hevc filename error and posting a comment on it! I was kinda bored and looking for something to do today so this issue sent me into crisis/fix mode! And thanks for the video quality compliment; both the avc and hevc episodes took 7-8hours each to encode so they should look decent. And the lowest bitrat hevc is 2054kbps for Carnival and that's not too low. That ep has weird video, like they shot it below 24fps so isn't smooth looking. But the BluRay remux has the same off video quality and the encodes do too.

Anarchemist: cool that you dig some of the new MST. I've really gotten into s12 though you're right, they're all more recent and all have a rip off theme to them. And the s11 Christmas movie took time to grow on me. The "I'm a little baby" bit felt creepy at first but now I get a kick out of each baby riff! I'm still have s11/s12 on off my systems for constant viewing so my likes/dislikes may evolve further.
