What is your favourite media player?
It doesn't have to be just for Windows, OSX, or GNU/Linux. What do you like?
I'll start: I like to use Windows Media Player 12 for Windows 7 and VLC/Banshee for video/audio (respectively) for GNU/Linux.
Windows Media Player 12 seems to be pretty good for all purpose media consumption, but, for starters, I use it only because it comes with the OS. Yet, in conjunction with the K-Lite Codec Pack, I would say that I am happy with the player and, while I did come across many worthy players, its minimalist interface and ability to player more files won me over
VLC is what I use for GNU/Linux. I like it because everything I want, such as, the endless options of the audio/video properties, the endless possibilities abilities for playing media, and both at the convenience of the user. The program is fast too, just make sure that you don't open many programs. If you do get VLC for GNU/Linux, make sure to download the libdvdcss2 software library. That way, you can play DVDs from all regions, for the most part.
Sorry, night time here; partly comatose.
Now an explanation: I dual-boot my computer; installing Windows 7 and Linux.
