Why kickasstorrent seized but tpb not?

More than one year ago kickasstorrent site has been seized. Theyve lost majority of data. And lots of domains..
However thepiratebay still active. How can that be possible?
Is that about cloud based servers? But what about domain name? Is that even a bulletproof?
Why is it so hard for them to shut down the piratebay? Or they are allowing the site to be active for some tricky reason?

I would say cloud services have allot to do with it....  Also kickass was based in Costa Rica. (.cr)

Co-operating between governments would be a possibility as well and easily accessible...

TPB however is runs on "RAID-proof" 21 virtual machines. shared NIC's (not actual IP's on the back-end) but would be shared to the host. That would play an almost impossible task

"RAID proof" would actually not be true reckon, its still hardware, and hardware can fail.... The fact you may have a backup, does not make it fool proof

With *that* many you can safety call it secure anyway, since if one does go down, u still have others...Also SSL to comply with Swedish laws.
