It's a gateway and it's in great shape. In fact I really like the thing because it's small and practical for my car.
I was wondering....
I think I read a couple of years ago that there was a trick to keep getting XP updated by making Microsoft think your computer was a cell phone.
XP was such a great OS that I would keeping it if it's possible

I've never heard of such a thing...
I Googled quickly and see that there are tips to make your computer's web browser to think it's a cell, but nothing about the whole thing or XP...
What were your Google results? also, a quick search shows videos about XP on phones but nothing tieing your question together for a computer...
Sorry I can't be of more help.
PS: who is that chick in your avatar pic?

yes, there are some web browser add-ons to make sites you're visit think that your OS is not your real running OS. example: win become linux, mac, android, ios, and vice versa.
so, it is working by usage of web browser + add-ons. never know about other method to fake running OS.
maybe other pirates (beside me and LZA) know more info?
nb: for Windows XP, i recomended using Mozilla Firefox 52.9.0 ESR (last version for Windows XP SP2-SP3)

People are still putting together custom integrations of Windows XP, so it is supported by the warez community at least.

I don't see much need to update XP, even SP3 is said to load "too much" on it - Consing it's 32-bit and the kind of hardware it is meant to run.

I'm not a gamer and and I really don't care about HD anything. - So I don't need power.
This little computer is great because it fits in the glove box of my car and it runs open office without any problems. I'm actually really happy to have found it.

I'll have o admit XP was my favorite of all Windows OS's until I started using 8.1.
You couldn't kill that XP computer I had. 8.1 (esp with a touch screen) is my new favorite though...
What are the dimensions of that computer??? It fits in your glove box? sounds more like a small tablet or huge phone size to me (but what do I know).
I'm curious as to why you need a computer in your glove box? Are you a junior police explorer who does lic plate checks ??? SCMODS????

Diary sized subnetbook? MSI Wind was the bomb... Cheapo Atom processor, only 1GB RAM (2 on some models), creappy WVGA (800x480 or 1024x600) with huge bezels, CTRL key only at the left side, tiny touchpad, quickie battery... and the infamous Windows 7 Starter Edition!
But it worked like a charm and was a perfect A5-format netbook. I installed XP with Transparency/Aero/UXTheme mods and Yahoo Widgets on mine. I miss it.

The computer is small and I need it for wifi hotspots. I refuse to pay for a data plan.
