OK, I get it now.
In US Dollars, what are the rates for "good" ones?

Depends. I can buy an Athom or Celeron mini-PC for as low as $100, an used desktop for $200. But you need to buy storage for $100 a drive (4TB), maybe an UPS (battery backup), and a dedicated internet service with VPN, It's like having your own lilliputian datacentre.

The answer to your question Robert is a good seedbox, one which won't rip you off long term is going to cost you about $1 per every 1TB of traffic you use whether it's up or down. $1 of your money and that is USA dollars not Canadian.

There are 2 types of seedboxes.
1:The one you rent from a company providing resources from server they rent from a datacenter advantages: Fast upload speed, low capex, invisible personal IP disadvantages: High opex, Personal data with the hosting company and thus possibility of legal actions. 2: The one on your local network connected to your home internet connection. advantages: Low opex, invisible personal IP when using VPN Disadvantages: High capex, slow upload speed I use a seedbox at home with nordvpn, which I also use to pipe all my lan traffic into before it goes to the internet. Here are the specs of the pc i bought for that purpose (https://docdro.id/WHl1dpd). It cost me around 125 USD from Alibaba. It is my seedbox, my windows based lan router, my fileserver and my DLNA server. Connected to this PC I have an Orico 5 USB HDD bay: https://www.orico.cc/us/product/detail/7164.html I choose USB based HDD bays because that way I can use backup services like backblaze to backup all my data. They do not allow to do so for network attached storage and it saves me on redundancy on my own drives. They are put in raid0 for speed. I choose for the storage 5 16TB Seagate exos 16TB drives divided in 2 storage spaces of 40TB because they only scale to 63TB on windows 10 professional for each storage space. Everything pretty cheap, besides the HDD, on aliexpress.

Been using seedboxes since 2012, when i started uploading on TPB.
I usually rent a bare dedicated server, then install linux (Debian or Ubuntu) and all software i want to use and configure accordingly, incl. domain name. Some places to get one are: kimsufi.com (low budget, slower speed) soyoustart.com (mid range) or ovh.com (very fast and more expensive) Another way is to rent a fully configured seedbox, which saves you a lot of work; look at f.e. seedbox.io and feralhosting.com Some stats: https://trisquel.info/files/seeded%201.0...tabyte.png In case anyone interested in more info, contact me via the TPB IRC channel.
