DVDR is for rips, eg. .ISO files or .vobs
Movies is for re-encodings eg. .avi's .mp4's, .mkv's

"DVDR" generically refers to the record-able format of disc that movies are placed on:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-R these torrents contain either a folder with VOB files (and sometimes IFO & BUP files), or contain a disc image in ISO format. they are not meant to be dvdrips, or any other form of lossy encode. at times an uploader will convert some hd file to standard def DVD format, or a very low quality CAM or TS file. as long as it is still in DVD format as described above however, it belongs in DVDR.

the "r" in dvd-r (and also in dvd+r) means indeed recordable, but the "r" in dvdr means replica.

These are movies that are meant to be downloaded and burned to DVDR with no further encoding.
