We need to talk about Trump
#11
Way I see it, a nation can mint its own cash, anytime and in any amount. It also taxes rather than sells, and in our case, spends a great deal to invade other nations and spy on its own citizenry. Actually, the last does sound a bit like Google, but the rest, not much. Speaking only for myself, I don't think the analogy really holds.

But then, I'm not sure what makes a good president. All I know is, we've had an unbeaten series of failures since the 1970s. That's a record to be proud of!

We can't just print money as that would cause inflation and instability. In order to succeed we need to tax and sell an appropriate amount as they both correlate unknowingly. If we really want to advance we need go back to the Roosevelt's investing and categorizing the country to succeed.

I didn't write we should *only* print money, just that it's a major difference between businesses and governments. We have to print and spend money, preferably at home on jobs, as you write. That puts it all back into the economy. Which is another point where businesses and governments differ, because businesses are all about turning a profit, and jobs for them are just a means to do this. Governments aren't, or at least shouldn't be, about turning a profit, in my opinion--much less for giant corporate concerns, who turn it over to their owners when governments give them tax exemptions and subsidies, or go on overseas tours to actually sell high-cost corporate goods, just as our government does for our munitions industry.

We do ?

I really don't wanna talk about that idiot.. All he does is imitate what u see in movies in reality...

Next Trump would wanna "fly like Superman" (Simpsons outtake)

I guess he means well...but sinking millions into stealth fighter jets  and "boasting" to the military about how invisible they are won't exactly earn him a grammy.

Now, now: there's no reason to assume any politician means well. The vast majority are interested in power, and serving their own group's needs. On the federal level, with elections costing stratospheric amounts, both parties pander to the corporate lobbies which can finance their campaigns. As opposed to listening to clowns like you and me, who expect service, honesty, and an interest in our welfare for little more than a vote.

We once had a government like that. But we allowed it to be bought and sold without a protest. And now we have one party, the Monied, with two extensions, the Dems and the GOP. The American Experiment is done. They're in the process of selling off the scenery and pushing us out of the theater.
