Howdy,
I am recovering from a brain injury and need a little help figuring something out. I wish to down grade an 8GB iso file to a 4GB file to burn to a DVD.
The only way I can figure out to do this is use Handbrake to save it as a MKV file just a bit smaller than 4GB and then burn it as a DVD.
Any thoughts ??
Thanks.

Consider getting a pirated version of DVDFab. It will allow you to extract all the video files that are inside the ISO.
It will also allow you to easily encode the videos into a smaller size.

Thanks. As I look around the desktop, DVDFab is staring back at me and judging. If it was a snake it would have bitten me. Since I have all the time in the world, I will also try Nero. I am relatively smart for about an hour so here goes.

You can try DVDShrink.
Just be aware that it's antiquated, discontinued, and the source target by unscrupulous "developers" for scams to buy their "latest" versions.
In fact, try here: https://www.videohelp.com/software/DVD-Shrink

Why?
DVD's are obsolete. Whatever your reason is for wanting to burn a DVD there are almost certainly superior alternative solutions.

Howdy,
Why DVDs? The landlady got one of those VHS to DVD machines and I did not have the heart to tell her she wasted her money, so I went and found all the titles she had ( I had to rent some at the video store. Yes, we still have a video store), made an ISO of the titles, and burned her some DVDs.
She still watches DVDs and does not really have a computer in her home.
I myself now have 34T of storage, and will probably get more after WorldCon.

sloweddi, did any of our solutions work?
EDIT: Forgot to add, would you consider going to the library? Here in my hometown, there are no video rental stores in existence, not even a Blockbuster.

I have often gone to the library for DVDs. I like to support small business owners (especially when they are friends) when possible.
Yes, the solutions worked great.
