Updated riffed audio for 4K movie releases
#1
***These files are audio only***

I think the list below should cover the immediate needs since the majority of 4K blu-rays already released will match up with the amazing work that bsg4you has already done. The only 4K left that I know doesn't sync with riffs out there is Independence Day, and I don't know if I care enough for that one. Also I haven't tested the Marvel or Harry Potter movies and tbh I probably won't. The only "project" left that I can think of would be LOTR Extended Editions, but I prefer the Theatrical anyway so I doubt I will bother. Please feel free to offer critique or point out issues and I might be able to correct. Also yes I will be working on 4K80 after v1.0 is released.

The Sword and the Sorcerer 4K
This is the audio track from the VOD with minor edits to maintain correct timing, I was expecting there to be more cuts on the VOD but this is basically the same. We get to see what's happening in dark scenes, and you will finally notice Reb Brown is in the movie.

Star Wars 4K77: An (un)Special riff
This file should work with any copy of 4K77 from that team, I tested on v1.0 and v1.4 and this should work on any of them. If there are any tweaks or updates needed after v2.0 releases in the future, I may come back and fix it up. All riffs that reference Special Edition changes/vfx that were actively on the screen were removed for obvious reasons, and also some minor changes here and there to give certain riffs more breathing room due to the tighter edit of the 4K77 edition. Movie audio sourced from the 35mm stereo optical track. I used bsg's version as reference for timing on certain riffs. Han shot first.

Return of the Jedi 4K83: An (un)Special riff
Similarly to 4K77, this riff should sync correctly with any copy of 4K83 from that team. I tested on v1.0 and a later HDR release from the same print and all the files should have the same timing. Yet again, all riffs that reference Special Edition changes/vfx that were on screen were removed for obvious reasons with some minor omissions to give certain riffs more breathing room and using bsg's version as a reference for timing on certain riffs. The source audio from the movie used for this sync is the 35mm stereo optical track. This one was tough, but I like the results. Yub nub!

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory 4K
The old copy of Wonka I had did not match timing with the 4K blu-ray so I re-did it myself (mostly for practice). The source audio track did match up with the just-the-jokes audio so no timing edits were needed.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Director's Cut 4K
I couldn't find a sync of the DC, so I did one myself. No timing edits for the just-the-jokes were needed.

Halloween 1978 Scream Factory 4K
Similarly to The Sword and the Sorcerer (also from Shout...), this one seemed to have some frames shaved off of shots or something because the just-the-jokes wouldn't line up with the Scream Factory audio. Since this new transfer was from the negative as opposed to Lionsgate's interpositive I decided to make this. As before, I used bsg's version as a reference to make sure riffs were lined up. Used the 2.0 track from the movie as source audio.

So these are apparently audio-only tracks. How does someone sync these with the actual videos?

As kargath says above, just take your unedited 4K UHD blu ray rip/remux/encode whatever mkv file and use mkvtoolnix to slap the above ac3 track in there, it should work as is with no fiddling necessary. I would assume that for everything except the two Star Wars movies you could also use the 1080p file/disc that comes from the same release as the 4K and it should sync with that video as well if you would rather use that. Sorry but I dont think its feasible for me to share 4K video files tbh.

This method also works on the majority of other 4K releases by simply taking the audio created by bsg4you in those files and putting them in the 4K MKV (with +/- delay ms for correct syncing)

In related news, i just saw that Miami Connection has a 4K released planned for May 31, apparently they found some interpositives for the transfer as well as some kind of pre-release version of the movie with a different ending...

I would assume something that makes the final title card not seem like a joke ending lol

Maybe the leader of the Miami ninjas was Mark's dad all along and they just hug it out, cut to credits

Here's Independence Day Extended Edition audio. I will probably be sticking to the theatrical version but I did this anyway to try it out. Honestly there is one riff that hits way harder in the Extended Edition, in the camper. Will probably work with the blu-ray version of the Extended edition as well with minor delay adjustments if you prefer that

Well i had totally overlooked that It's a Wonderful Life also had a 4K release. This audio should sync up with it, Rifftrax obviously used a really cut down version of the movie but this audio should restore all of that missing content. I didnt test this with copies of the Blu-ray but it would imagine it syncs up with that too with maybe minor +/- delay adjustments to the track if you prefer the 1080p version.
