Unable to open magnet links.
#1
Hello,

I feel quite puzzled by what's been happening for me recently, i don't know if i've been banned from ThePirateBay but i discovered that my IP address was detected as malicious on another site. The restriction on that site has since been lifted, but i still cannot use ThePirateBay.  I have had strange issues in the past, namely being unable to create an account or upload torrents of my own. However, i didn't mind too much until now, as i am no longer able to open magnet links or download torrents. Magnet links seem to be the best way to get a torrent going. I know browsers can be strange with some things, that certain elements of a webpage won't work in some browsers. I primarily use Firefox, i have tried to open the magnet links in other browsers such as Brave, Edge and Chrome which tend to give me an actual webpage but i am still unable to download torrents using the other browsers. Previously, i had no trouble downloading torrents using Firefox. I have tried opening magnet links with my VPN enabled and disabled, both within Firefox and the desktop version.
This change came at a time when i had just removed all the torrents that i was seeding, some of which i had seeded 1TB of data to. I have a feeling that someone has interfered with my PC and prevented me from being able to download torrents, perhaps they were downloading one of the torrents that i removed. I felt i had seeded enough. This seems quite farfetched, but you never know what people get up to on the internet. You can't just seed torrents forever because at some point, the C: drive gets too full and needs to be cleared out in order to operate properly. If your C: drive has no free space, the PC will no longer function and there isn't much chance of being able to seed torrents if your OS crashes.

I'm unable to take a screenshot of the error page using Firefox, and somehow the usual function to take a screenshot using Windows/keyboard PrtSc key function has been disabled. This is the error message i get:
"The address wasn’t understood
Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (magnet) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.
You might need to install other software to open this address."

Can someone please tell me what's going on? Have i been IP banned from ThePirateBay, or is this the work of someone else out there with their priorities in the wrong places? (nothing to do with TPB). I don't understand why a person would have such a vested interest in making another person's life hard.

I see some fire stuff over at tumblr Heart Warframe, Discogs etc.!

Anyway, by the looks of it from the screenshots, you might be using a proxy site, the official Pirate Bay link is always linked at the bottom of the Pirates-Forum:

Thanks for your reply, i love Warframe and DnB!!

I tried that site but when i open magnet links, the site icon flashes for a split second then nothing happens. I also googled all other versions of TPB but they all have the same issue. I don't know if i'm banned for some strange reason, or if i downloaded something that people with the skills to interfere with my PC didn't want me to download, if they don't want me to download anything or.. something. Maybe at some point i can learn cybersecurity and learn how to defend myself online.. Frustrating for now though.

Also stop clicking magnets. TPB self without adblock sometimes have nasty macros and browser hijacks in the adware js. Copy the link address and paste it into your torrent client please

I guess that would explain why the magnet links have always worked for me.
