Torrent too large ?
#1
Before I continue into this wall of text, let me explain that I HAVE read the FAQ and found something similar in regards to this issue.

"There are no specific limits but .torrent files over approximately 200kB and/or covering more than approximately 1000 files often cause this. Create a new torrent with fewer files or larger piece sizes."

With that said, I'd rather not pack more of my files into zip files (I've already done that for a good portion of it and I'd rather not go through more of it this way)
I originally got a 402 error I believe stating that my "Entity was too large".

The torrent file itself is 4.43 MB's in size and the torrent contains about 115 GB's of stuff.
It's a shame I'm stuck at this wall considering this would indefinitely bring a lot of traffic to both this website and my torrent.

Is there ANY way I could get this file uploaded or am I screwed and should move on to zipping/Raring most of it?

you can reduce the torrent to 145 KB using 16 MB piece size.

No, you are not going to be able to upload that to TPB unless you break it into multiple torrents.

at first i was asking myself "how the **** is that possible?" but then i realised how failed miserably when i forgot to account for the fact that having a zillion files bloats the size of the torrent. as such, the only solution is the one moe presented. you could make a torrent for the torrent, but downloaders don't like that one bit.

Not to mention it usually gets the uploader banned unless they have a solid upload history at TPB and a very good reason.

115 GB of data with 16MB pieces will be about 145 KB of piece hashes alone.  Depending on file names, you could break that up into about 800 to 1000 file archives and probably get that up on TPB in a torrent file under 200KB.

But one thing downloaders will like even less than a torrent of a torrent file is having to seed 115 GB of archived data.  It'll take weeks of 24/7 seeding to move that much data, and few users are going to dedicate 250GB of disk space, all their bandwidth, and leave their computers on for that much time.

So you can expect that you'll have to personally keep this torrent on life support for a long time because only the most dedicated downloader is going to help you seed this.

On the other hand, if you left it unarchived and in multiple torrents, people could download it in chunks, seed it back in chunks, and not have to use double the disk space to keep both the archived and unarchived versions.  This has a better likelihood of getting seeded back.

If I were to zip/rar every major folder and then put all of those into one folder, would that not work ?
There is no issue when it comes to hosting/seeding it. The bigger issue is having the torrent file uploaded to websites.
What would you personally recommend the best solution is ?
I'd like to avoid having 5 torrents for one major collection.

What is it, exactly? [It's impossible to recommend a "best solution" without knowing what it is we're talking about.]
