Tixati only uploaded at 15kb/s, this small change multiplied it 20x instantly

I was thinking why the heck is tixati only uploading at 15kbps? I have 50MBps upload speed.

I went in and tried a couple things. This one small change immediately changed my upload speed as can be seen on this graph. Still getting 1.5mbps to 2.5mbps, which isn't super fast, but hey it is wayy better than 15kbps.



It really doesn't make any sense to me why the "MINIMUM" upload speed is limiting the upload speed, but changing it did solve the issue.

Before, it was at 15kbps minimum. I changed it to 9999kbps minimum (10MBps). As you can see from the graph above, the performance increase was immediately (within 1 second after changing the upload speed shot up).

The window on the left comes up when you click the "Advanced" button.

First of all you need to stop confusing MB with Mb and KB with Kb. The small b is bits, the big B is bytes. Bytes are 8 times bigger than bits.

Your provider is probably giving you 50Mb, not MB per second, otherwise that would be about the fastest upload speed in the world (except maybe korea). Which works out to be about 6.25Mb per second, or 6250Kb per second.

Tixati shows KB per second. Not Kb per second. So you are getting 2000Kb which is about a third of what you should be getting. But some providers aren't exactly honest about the speeds they provide.

Why changing the minimum speed would affect anything, I can't say, other than to switch to a different client.
