The Cost of Living Crisis..
#1
I just wanted to say that now that this is the cost of living crisis period, we've obviously already had the previous pandemic.  We're currently facing the cost of living right at the moment and for some people things are terrible right now.  I'm not entirely sure what's happening in other countries but certainly in the UK there is trouble and people are being hit with massive bills for energy and the cost of fuel for running vehicles is at an almighty high.  The point I'm making is that during these times people are having to find ways of saving money so all this Pirating that goes on here at this site or on other sites must be very popular right now.

I understand there's many people who have had to cancel all kinds of services that they normally had to try and save money which means that people will turn to Piracy and going online to find something to watch or a game to play without having to buy it which is fair enough in my opinion.  The amount of money that people are taking right now for things like energy bills is completely absurd so this is what happens people want to do it the cheapest way possible and I don't blame them.

I know that you can get a broadband connection these days and it's not that much money and you only need a cheaper option of VPN or something like Surf Shark or something like that which won't break the bank but just look how much you can save by doing this instead of subscribing to really expensive TV packages that you might find in the home.  The good thing about The Pirate Bay right now is that the reason why the site is here is for this exact purpose and because the price of gas and electricity is just completely ridiculous people have to think about that now and the whole situation is terrible compared to what it was some months ago.

If this whole thing encourages people to go online and become pirates then I commend that and I say right on get things as cheap as you can.  If somebody shares something online for others then I say you should embrace it because the amount of people that energy companies are charging and making huge profits from is just stupid so therefore things have to go which includes anything you don't really need normally to survive.  I would say that online Piracy is and should be at an all time high due to the current situation.  The whole reason why The Pirate Bay has been here all this time, I would say is for times like these that we're in right now, couldn't be more important...

Yeah, totally.

To me though it's a lifestyle. It's kind of like the Mouse Problem Sketch in Monty Python's Flying Circus in that it sneaks up on you, but with the people who have nothing to turn to, no wonder why so many people do it.

The authorities may catch one or two, but they're powerless to shut us all out. There are too many to catch.

I would say though is that the world needs a better system than the system of money. There are already better examples of this in fiction and working in theory. To say it specifically, we need a better system than just bartering and charging.

I read the news, the energy situation is horrible. I think we all know who is to blame, but not much can be done. (And please don't blame me, I don't work in the energy sector nor a politician.)

Can I say that cancelling and going full pirate is not as beneficial as it looks for all the parties involved? The people who provide services, that others are cancelling, do need income too. Small game developers depend on every customer and this a very important part of the industry. The current AAA projects are, let say, not always good despite swimming in a ton of money. The world will be worse off without smaller developers.

Steaming, right. The situation is not good. Previously only one package was enough, became bad with fragmentation. To do legally is very costly, especially in a non-developed country.

The piracy's cost on providing sharing is not as clear. One can say that keeping PCs up and all of that, is not free; ISPs work on providing the service is not free. Piracy is only free in not paying the maker, it seems.

What might be more important is to address the issue with energy, to diversify. Like, if the countries haven't depended on a single supplier so much, that wouldn't be an issue.

I don't question the current is far from good (It's not deniable). I must say unless humans will stop being humans, as in Homo Sapiens, and will not think like humans with all the human flaws, other systems are not unlikely to fail.I don't see a proposal of a system, what is your idea exactly? Getting a sci-fi fantasy that "in theory" works is not very assuring. Maybe something better will come true when our cybernetics & gene editing will be of decent quality.

Changing the system as in ruleset will not stop humans from wanting more and creatively pursuing it. It won't stop people from disregarding common sense, morals, and rules because we're individuals and each one has their own mind. So, the possible way would be less individualist and more collective, community driven and all, but that is frequently mistaken by communism or other stuff, more often as a way to make it sound like a bad thing. Curious enough, people scorn communitarian theories but think of "ubuntu" (the african concept, not the software, but also the software) as good.
