What did you do in the end re TPM etc?
The only scenario where I am concerned about getting the TPM stuff right is if I upgrade my dads 10 yr old pc to win 11 or win 10.
And the only reason I'd even think about it is if I have to get a workaround edited torrented win download.
But it sounds like you don't even need to do that now as there are plenty of articles since we talked saying that MS lied - you really don't need the min specs they list to use win and pretty sure that includes not really needing a tpm. Check it out online.
Did you buy a grey Win 11 Pro Retail key... that link I posted is back up again - pretty cheap.
I've heard you shouldn't bother buying any keys less that costs less than US $15-20 or you'll just likely get scammed.
BTW I've been using Win 11 for a few months now and no problems with the key.
I would warn you to disable secure/fast boot and NEVER EVER use Hibernate/Hybrid/Sleep as there is a fatal glitch that will stop your computer from posting...
In theory there are loads of instructions on how to 'try' to fix it - but I just had no luck and had to start over which made me furious in this day and age.
Especially since this is a well known Win 10 glitch they carried over.
It's fine - it just takes slightly longer to load but no big deal. Definitely worth the peace of mind... but still avoid doing anything other than Shutting Down and Restart just in case.
Also follow the instructions to use Terminal/CMD etc to disable Hibernate/Sleep etc and also do turn them off in the Power settings.
You probably already know this but just in case...
BTW this goes for ALL AV - both win defender (whether you think its on or not) and for me Bitdefender.
Re Torrents and A/V... I've learned it's important to set up exclusion folders to tell different AV NOT TO SCAN those folders or drives.
This includes wherever you install them.
And it also includes your external drives and usb sticks etc.
I'm pretty sure that I've had problems early on when I didn't realise this when I had a brand new torrent freshly downloaded on a different PC... whacked on ext drive.
But when I plugged it into my PC and copied it over - it didn't seem to work?
Eventually figured out it was autoscanning the Ext Drive and deleting or quarantining the vital keygens and stuff.
So you need to exclude the right drive letters for ext drives too...
Problem is they change depending on what drives and how many drives you have plugged in via usb.
So I would suggest plugging in the max number of drives you would ever have plugged in at once and exclude them all.
The other issue I can forsee is if you are going to install a new AV program - there is no way to stop it autoscanning before you can tell it to exclude things.
So maybe have all torrents backed up on a diff ext drive and do a macrium image of your win installation and installed programs just in case if kills them you can replace them.

BTW I assume you are using a vpn right? Clearly the most important thing to do!
I'm using nordvpn... highly suggest move to paid vpn as free ones are often getting hacked and scandals where they turn out to be logging everything and selling them or sharing your bandwidth without telling you.
