TPB site error (cloudflare and NoScript)
#1
Hi guys,

Recently, you activated the anti-ddos system on TPB, and due to the browser verification, I'm not able to use the program I wrote to download torrents.

The program was running on my raspberry : it was downloading the HTML page (via wget or curl for instance this page : https://thepiratebay.org/search/south%20...E05/0/99/0) and I was parsing this page to find the torrents I need / wish, but now I'm not able to download the html page anymore due to this check... is there any way to bypass that ? will it stay on the website ? Undecided  My program was great but now it's completely useless with these new anti-ddos measures....

Here is what I get instead of the result page :

Code:

I use NoScript when browing the net because I'm not stupid. Anyway, it seems some new cloudflare ddos protection implemented recently is now interfering with me browing TPB. It says I have to "turn on javascript".

Frankly, considering the history of ads and shady popups on TPB, I will not activate javascript on TPB. And it has worked fine up until now.

Don't block the only ways users have of protecting themselves, please.

How CloudFlare implements their services is outside of our control. That may or may not be something Winston is willing or able to shut off independently.

I recommend using the .onion address which bypasses CloudFlare.

Hello.

Thank you for your reply. I hope he could turn that off, because I don't think I could use TOR on my pi with a script / program to access the page... I'll try.. but please if you can, remove this shitty protection, no one want to DDos this website Smile

EDIT : I found a way around, it's working again, I can now easily download on my raspberry Big Grin Big Grin  Here is a picture if you know to see what I made (it uses transmission when you input the torrent's number)

Cloudflare is based in the US (San Francisco) not sure how that is the "best" way to avoid the US government.  Considering they are at the mercy of a subpoena like every other company based in the US.

I meant the fact that I have to use TOR to be able to browse TPB with NoScript.

I found a workaround. Use "thepiratebay.se" in the first URL you use to get there, then it will redirect without blocking you.
