It is not true that a proxy is your only choice.
As I already said, you can use a VPN or the tor address.
That said, if all you are doing is browsing and downloading, then you probably won't have any problems, other than the lack of functionality you already are experiencing.
But you won't be able to create an account to comment or upload without risking giving away your password.

I have no idea how to use a VPN or a tor address and I'm not in the mood to find out.
Yes, I'm only browsing and downloading. I have no urge to comment or upload and you tell me I'll “probably” be O.K. I was worried that downloaded files might contain bad shit.
Even the lack of functionality isn't a concern. I had the problem I started this thread about for a number of days, but I don't get it any more. If it happened again, PirateBrowser works.

You download from other peers in the swarm. No proxy can tamper with that.
However, a proxy could easily just list a bunch of fake and malware torrents as results, but hopefully you'll figure that out real quick and never visit the proxy again.
More likely is a proxy loaded with aidz filled advertising and malware ridden scripts. Again, it wouldn't be a terribly useful long term proxy, so you'd move on.
Really, getting tor browser and pointing it to http://uj3wazyk5u4hnvtk.onion/ would solve the problem, and keep you online through many of the recent outages.

So perfidious albion geoblocks piratebay, and instead of using any legit proxy (there are dozens) you decide to use a scam one. And when that shity site doesn't even works, you come here to complain. And when an admin (not just a mod) takes a lot of time to teach you a couple of things, your answer is : "I'm not in the mood of learning shit". LOL

PirateBrowser is an outdated modified version of TOR.

I came here not knowing that I wasn't using the proper Pirate Bay. I don't know why you call the website I was using a scam; far as I can tell, it performs a social service and nothing more. And the admin didn't take time (and not a lot of it, at that) to teach me things until after I'd posted. If the solution is as simple as using another browser, I'll do that.
With all these lies you're telling, you're pretty perfidious. I was actually impressed by how nice everyone had been to me around here. You're the first see-you-next-Tuesday I've come across. Does everyone dislike you?

Admins here are helpful and patient, more than me for sure. My tolerance with trolls like you is much lower.
Stop the nonsense. Of course you are answered after posting and not before, because people don't read minds.
Using another browser is not the answer, read the posts again.

Moe said, “getting tor browser ... would solve the problem,” so, yes, using another browser is indeed the answer – I can't use https://thepiratebay.se/ with Firefox, but I can with Tor. You can read that as many times as you like and it'll still be true.
You call me a troll, one whose posts make people angry, but I've done nothing of the kind while you've done nothing else. What lie will you tell next?

I'm kinda' bored right now, I have nothing to do and I'm gonna write down a little.
Let's play fair:
timothychilman Wrote:I don't know why you call the website I was using a scam; far as I can tell, it performs a social service and nothing more.
You're kinda' noob when it comes about this stuff. Instead of trying to explain you, just agree with us: that site is a scam. And we can't know for sure if it's performing 'social' service. Use another certified proxy from https://proxybay.la
timothychilman Wrote:If the solution is as simple as using another browser, I'll do that.
Not any other browser (this is what Connor tried to point out, but you were just arguing with him). Only TOR browser is able to bypass the censorship and access .onion URLs.

Whatever he said, they were no lies. He simply can't stand people with lack of knowledge in this domain (you are one of them).

He's not a troll, but a simple (annoying) noob.

You've been answered. You can use tor even if you have said in the previous post that you don't have any interest in it.
Any legit proxy will work ok. Thepiratebay.com.se is not legit, it says blatant lies in his front page and use an intentionally misleading name, to get traffic and money.
