TPB Peers Stat
#1
Hello, buys I have a one question.
In TPB the way to download are only via Magnet Links, not via Torrent files.
When the magnet is added to the torrent client the list of tracker announces are :

Status:
----------
Online
Offline

udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80

udp://open.demonii.com:1337

udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969

udp://exodus.desync.com:6969

But when I check TPB Peers and all my announce list trackers, TPB peers are the same like the peers of udp://tracker.leechers-paradise.org:6969
It is the peers come from it? But in a case the torrent is uploaded only in TPB (and the peoples which download it will be connected only to the list above) how this announce get the peers which is updated in TPB?
Really try to understand these things, but didnt find any logic. I just thinking TPB Peers come from udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80 and when is offline to get the peers from udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969

Hope to get reply from somebody which know more about this.

Nobody except Winston knows for sure what he scrapes, or when, and he has never said. Not publicly, not even to staff privately. And no doubt it changes from time to time anyway.

As all trackers within torrent files uploaded to TPB are ignored, and the magnet links constructed from whole cloth, there is nothing you or we can do about it anyway.

DHT keeps the whole system ticking in spite of the ups and downs of trackers.

What about
udp://exodus.desync.com:6969

its offline from months but its still available in magnets. Maybe will be much better to have some active trackers there.

Thanks for that information.

I think it would be much better to have no trackers there. But that is Winston's call.

In any case, nobody is complaining that they cannot download torrents from TPB, even though the trackers are "broken", which shows that DHT really is as effective as we have been saying for years.

Yeah, the final result is the important. Btw this is my announce list :

Code:
udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969/announce
udp://tracker.blackunicorn.xyz:6969/announce
udp://eddie4.nl:6969/announce
udp://tracker.leechers-paradise.org:6969
udp://tracker.opentrackr.org:1337/announce
udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80/announce
udp://9.rarbg.com:2710/announce
udp://9.rarbg.to:2710/announce
udp://9.rarbg.me:2710/announce

Do u can tell me your opinion about it. Do you see some good trackers, which is not included in my list or do u see some which is not better.
Just I see you know many things and your advise is very important to me. Thanks so much for your time.

My opinion is that it is not just unnecessary but actually harmful; to you (ie. to up/downloaders in general) as it means you get unnecessarily agitated when trackers go down temporarily or permanently, as they inevitably do; and to the tracker operators who have to pay for bandwidth and processing power (and expose themselves to legal risks) that people don't need.

As for which trackers are "good"? Aside from the point that as they are unnecessary none can properly be described as "good", I have no idea as I haven't used trackers for years. For the past two years at least I have blocked announces from my client globally--I rely on DHT and Peer Exchange exclusively.

The best advice I could give you would be to do the same. [I use Tixati, which has a global setting for blocking announces. Back when I used uTorrent I used to use a combination of manual deletion of trackers from each torrent I downloaded and null-routing entries in my hosts file for the most common trackers in case I missed some deletions. ]

Thanks so much for your help! I still learning these things and every help which I get is very helpful for me! Now i google it and check this "Tixati" i didnt hear for it before. And about my tracker list Im not sure to understand u right, just your english is perfect, not like mine.... I use this list when make torrent. I create torrents from my seedbox and just saw in last days, maybe more everyday many trackers doesnt work... and updated again and again.... and dont know what to do to use the best list with a problem to some tracker announce once per month/two. maybe the list mut be from 3-4 trackers, like TPB magnet working. Want all my work to be perfect to be a good part of TPB and peoples to love my work, download speed etc.

Again thanks so much for your time and advices !

It does not matter which trackers you include when you create a torrent file to upload to TPB because TPB totally ignores the tracker list. The magnet links are created using 3 or 4 trackers of TPB's choosing, which change from time to time. Every torrent / every magnet link gets the same trackers.

Since it makes no difference to download speeds whether you include one tracker, one hundred trackers, or none at all, the easiest thing for you to do would be to create your torrent file without any trackers.

If you really want trackers then, after you upload the torrent, click on the magnet link and it will copy the current set of trackers TPB has chosen into your client. You don't have to do that, and it will make no difference to the Seed/Leech figures displayed on the website or to download speeds, but it might make you feel better.

Otherwise, you can just seed without any trackers. People will still be able to download, and you won't get error messages every time a tracker goes down.

EDIT: I am assuming your seedbox supports DHT.

Yes TPB work only with these trackers

Status:

Offline

udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80

udp://open.demonii.com:1337

udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969

udp://exodus.desync.com:6969

50% of them doesnt work

udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80 and udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969 are the active trackers when somebody download it. These trackers are important to me, right? i can make torrent only with them.

I really appreciate about your help!
Thanks so much and about "Tixati". Its a very nice client.

Does your seed box supports DHT?
