Just wanted to note and share this.

It's unacceptable to post private messages in public. Regardless of the content, if you have a problem with a PM from another member, you should report it to staff privately.

Semar hasn't broke any rules. It's not like he's offered to pay for votes or other similar nonsense. From what I can see, he's highlighting the vote thread to try and get more people to vote, I don't see anything wrong with that.

Perhaps some rules can be set? Also in light of recent developments would an extension or something be considered?

You want us to set rules on the last day of voting? You must be jesting my dear. We're loathe to post rules and state the obvious around here because we figure our members have some modicum of intelligence, are able to think for themselves, and can work things out using common sense and reason.

If one of the entrants did something silly, like say offering money for votes, that would obviously warrant a disqualification, but if you need a written rule stating just that, then we're all doomed.

There aren't any 'recent developments' and the date won't be extended. This vote thread will close sometime today - probably later on tonight as it's morning time for me at the time of posting this - and I think one week to vote is plenty of time to get the votes in.

After chatting with the other staff, it's been decided that the voting period will be extended for one week.

We feel this gives us enough time to poke Winston, and get him sobered up enough to change the homepage for the anniversary.

Voting will close on Wednesday 29th August, at 21.00 Sweden time.

There isn't a connection. I was worried about the length of time it'd take Winston to make the changes on the homepage because he's known for being 'laid back,' and I wanted to get the winning entry to him ASAP. However, after discussing it with other staff, we think 2 weeks is ample time for him to put up the anniversary logo, hence the extension.
