Swift Streamz Kodi addon reports a 403 Error
#1
I just entered the Kodi addon Swift Streamz that includes a lot of TV channels, the addon recently reports a 403 Forbidden error, but not a 404, meaning, in my comprehension, that it's still on, but not granting me rights to access it.

I tried to use Indigo to wipe my cache just as it does, but nothing.

Is Swift Streamz down or is it just for maintenance?

I'll try again next Sunday.

It's pretty important to me because it has a Toronto news channel that I like to swatch and rely on for local updates.

What I was able to find was an apk download on a third party site - latest version is from last year. As I don't have an android box I couldn't test it. But my suspicion is that the IPTV streams are set up to run through their swiftstreamz domain, which... has expired.

Well, this addon recently went down, not a long time ago.

I guess I'll just have to move on.

Listen, apart from the security side of things, and more onto the accessibility side of things, should I get a VPN? There are quite a lot of channels that I can't access because, well, I don't use VPNs.

Not a big loss though, as I can just download. I just want to watch the news, that's all.

I don't stream any IPTV content apart from the danish ones I can get easily on my raspberry pi kodi box, so I can't really help here. I reckon setting up your android box to tunnel through a VPN could be a hassle, so you should definately take a free trial before paying for anything. You could try this one: https://www.ivacy.com/blog/kodi-vpn/

Having Kodi on your VPN with your Android box is a must.  You're better on the dark web really but then again it depends on where you live.  If you're in one of the 14 eyes then yes I would say it's a pretty good idea.  I must admit there's been some funny goings on as of late in the world of Android and Kodi.  I think since the lockdowns and all that happened earlier this year they have been trying to take down various things in a lot of ways and seem to have succeeded.  It seems that in the last few months various streaming services like especially live sporting events have been taken down so I have had to search for new ones now.  Having the VPN to escape my own country, just couldn't live without it now the whole blockade affair can be an annoying factor.

Well, I'll talk about VPN another time, since this isn't exactly the section to do that.

The addon is back up, until it breaks down again, and again, and again.

I'll stop bitching from this point on.
