SuprBay: Allow additional characters in usernames
#1
On The Bay I use unusual characters in my username (i.e. } { ) but here on the suprbay I cannot create a username with those.
It would be great to be able to use the same name in both places.
Any reason why that isn't already the case?

The same reason you can't (legally) name your child "{me}". The same reason people took to calling Prince "Squiggle" or "Symbol" when he changed his name to whatever the fuck it was he changed it to. Communities require individuals with graspable identities. Names you cannot pronounce make that harder, with no benefit whatsoever.

I'd ban them on TPB and IRC if I could.
