Hey everyone, hope you all are doing fine
Im currently using AVG iv been using this since '09 but recently i have come across quite a few bugs in AVG which made me wonder that if they cant fix these than how the hell can they really help me protect my PC so since then been Googling alot and read some reviews of AV's and based on the ratings i tried Norton 360 2014 edition which was good but my PC just started having troubles like "my computer" for example would'nt open no more so i uninstalled it so i need help from my fellow pirateers on what should i use something that is all-in-one meaning it should have firewall,web protection etc in it too + should be light on system resources so suggest me something feel free to share whatever u have in mind.....

Want lightweight? Go with ClamWin (No real-Time protection, only an On-Demand scanner) and for the firewall (IF using Win Vista/7/8) check THIS which works with the native Windows Firewall, I think this is as lightweight as you can get... (Along side ClamWin there is ClamSentinel which serves as a complement, making ClamWin a Real-Time protection suite, but from what I've seen it kinda pushes CPU to the rooftop)

I use Norton 360. Easy to hack. You can find it on The Pirate Bay and follow the instructions that come with it.

Im using the AV that comes free with my broadband these days, most companies offer you something.

@NokTham Googled it but the reviews are not very good but will give it a shot
@RobertX Tried Norton and loved it but it slowed my pc down to the point i couldnt even open "my computer" 'coz it kept giving me some error related to some service so i uninstalled it and everything went back to normal + i could'nt find a crack for x64
@Kingfish my ISP sucks,lol

Sorry to hear that, but that has never happened to me.
I would just shut off some features that I don't use, like Backup.

How much time worth of updates do they give you?

check out Webroot SecureAnywhere its just a few megabytes and its light.. thats what I use on my old pc

I use avast! Internet Security. It's well worth the $40 in my opinion.

The best AV is found between your ears. Don't download .exe's from sources you don't have a specific and good reason to trust. Don't click on anything implausible. Install an ad blocker. Do those things and you will avoid almost all trouble no matter what AV you have (and even if you don't have any).
Install the best AV there is and feel safe you can click on anything and everything and sooner or later you're going to find the chink in your AV armour--no AV is perfect.

Thank you! I haven't used an anti virus program in the last 5 years and haven't had a virus once. I use Peerblock (which it's functionality has been argued over and over, but I like it, it's very lightweight too.) and use maleware bytes as a scanner like once a month, just as a precaution, and it never finds anything. I am just careful online and use an ad blocker, run anything suspicious in a sandbox if needed. I fix computers as my second job, and I usually load AVG in a clients computer because its free, and for the basic web surfing they do it is fine. AVG always gave me lots of false positives especially dealing with game cracks and the like. Also, if they have a preference they can change it, but I'm not going to give them an "unprotected" computer. I pay $10 a year for the update server on Peerblock. I'm willing to spend that money it's less than a dollar per month
