Storing Massive Movie Collection

ffs, you want to be able to store hundreds of hundreds of movies on something that doesn't cost anything, we get it.
No such fucking magical media exists. I'm sure you get it so stfu. Either delete the movies you currently have or shell out for some more storage. Or, hey, here's a thought, print the movies out on imaginary movie paper--it's not only free but it doesn't even take up space on your shelves. Playback is a bitch but you can't have everything.

hireshi, I'd prefer to avoid editing files. I think I will just delete older films from my drive as newer ones come in. You guys are all right: there's no way I can have the best of both worlds (that of high res films and low cost storage).
NIK, point made. A little nicer next time wouldn't hurt. I'm curious to know how many movies each of you have if you counted all the titles on your drive(s). It would do me good to see where I stand in relation to more experienced users.

jenkins, why not put it on DVD or Blu-Ray blanks?

Because thats not cost effective and optical media is becoming legacy technology.

But you do realize what kind of website ThePirateBay is, and why it always changes address? It's a website for the kind of thing that will attract all kinds of people, so it's obviously not friendster. Just don't make things personal or take it too seriously, it's not gonna be fun staying around then.

Still, no harm done in trying to teach people how to behave respectfully. Your approach is th equivalent of discouraging educating special needs children since they're already at a disadvantage. If everyone would think like that, can you imagine how selfish and primitive society would be?

The topic is storing massive amounts of data.
Stick to it. /mod

I wonder if drive compression is still a viable option.
EDIT: It used to be a big thing when I first worked with computers.
