Hey guys, I'm with a problem on my speakers.
Sometimes they make a low sound, kinda "clowck". Apparently no sound source is active and seems to be connected to CPU activity, often when I click the mouse.
It happens sometimes, can be a few times in a short time or stay quiet for hours. Random electronic material wear-out or external RF interference, idk.
My rig is:
6-year old Samsung RF511 notebook with Realtek audio on-board ;
Creative Labs/Cambridge DTT 3500 dolby receiver;
JVC shelf speakers from UX-5000 series micro-system;
Mouse is a USB Trust with color shifting led. Running Windows 7.
Pretty weird. Any suggestions?

Realtek on-board audio is known to do such stupid shit. Does it go away when you use headphones on the jack?

I'm currently using the jack for the receiver; will try headphones for a while. Noticed it happening when I click on a web link, really weird.

That's a system sound then.
It makes sense, but my Windows is set for the "No Sound" scheme; I checked, no sound is selected for any event.

Why don't you try headphones? I had the same problem with my Creative 5.1 Stumbled on this article about gaming headsets https://supergamereviews.com/best-gaming-headphones/ and sure enough, I got one pair, Logitech , it solves all my gaming sound problems

The problem happened with or without phones. Just reinstalling the entire system and drivers solved the issue.
I forgot to update it here.

Sounded like some software issue. Maybe a running service or something else. Possibly even malware.
I know you solved it already, but could it have been coincidence with the web links, or was it pretty consistent to that?

I feel like I've had this problem before, and think it was malware. Good call reinstalling Windows.
