Something wrong with port on my server? (XBT)
#1
I have XBT Tracker as a backend on my VPS.

I first tried it with a XBT frontend for Xenforo forums. I create, upload and download the torrent, it starts to seed, it is available, in my client and on domain:2710/stats there's listed (1) seeder.

But on the forum itself, the torrent says "complete" but 0 seeders last announce: never, 0 leechers and 0 peers.

I scrapped that and went over to XBTIT since I thought the add-on was broken, same problem here.
Available in my client, lists me as a seed, but on xbtit it comes out as a 'dead' torrent with 0/0/0.

A friend tried to download and it wouldn't start.

So now my thought is that (2710) is the default XBT port, could my server be blocking this port, because I don't think the XBT is broken, as I have tried two different versions and they both run and their stats are up, but when it comes to the connection between the frontends and the clients, it stops. Frontends doesn't pick up any status changes or announces

its been a while since i played with XBTIT, i remember the stats were buggy to say the least back then. how long did you wait before you checked the forum?
From memory it took upto 30mins to refresh.

What error did your friend get?
Is he registered with your tracker?
is his client set up right?

theres loads of good tutorials on XBT we worked out all the kinks in a matter of a few hours.

Both the forum frontend and the XBTIT i had been seeding for 24-30 hours without any updates.

One of my friend got offline (timed out), the other one got stalled.

i've lost all of my notes and FAQs over the last 3 years, (out of the game for a while, bad divorce and other shit)

if i get chance today (this evening) i'll see if i can boot my old HD and see if i had anything saved on there, apart from that good luck with other help.
