So I've been pretty busy lately and haven't gotten around to getting good descriptions together for my next batch of torrents and uploading them for a while, so they've been sitting in my client uploaded nowhere for a while.
Suddenly, a leecher! It appears to have connected to me through DHT and doesn't show up on any of the listed trackers. Where did he come from? Is there an index that stores torrents as soon as they can announce? I've seen DHT report peers before I've uploaded them anywhere, but this is the first time I actually transferred data to one.
Thanks,
KingCzral
Mabey someone has already created the very same torrent, it happens.

Not possible, I added my own tags, so these files are unique.

That's how DHT works, you don't need to upload the torrent to a web page like this one. You have been found through BTDigg by the name of the file.
You can make an experiment if you have two pcs. Create a torrent of a file in one pc and open it with the p2p client. Open the torrent in the second pc with the client and the file will be transfer through p2p from one to the other.

In my home experiment, you copy the torrent file from one to the other.
In the real world, DHT network transmit the information of the torrent file through the DHT network nodes, you transmit not only the file but the torrent information too. It's completly decentralized.

That's not how DHT works. DHT is a decentralized tracker - it does not exchange torrent meta data.
Transferring meta data is the realm of magnet URIs, which are independent of DHT.

Thanks for the info connor17, what you're saying makes sense. I had imagined these types of indexes could exist, but didn't know of any by name until now.
I had stopped the torrent simply because I'm not prepared to seed it yet, started it back up to take a screenshot, they seem to have left.

connor17's explanation (with kjf's amendment) is plausible but not conclusive. If you gave us the torrent hash we could investigate further and possibly confirm it.
