In honor of this special time, I share with all of you some excellent Christian soft rock.

In the soft rock era, some Christian musicians adopted the soft rock sound for their music.

These musicians were wonderful songwriters and performers. I greatly enjoy their music and the message they impart. I hope that you enjoy the music also.

Imperials - Let The Wind Blow

Introducing a new event for the thread:

Timeline

Timeline is an event in honor of summer and the fun, special memories of this time of year. The scope of this feature is a broad examination of soft rock from its earliest beginnings to its later progression into the 90s with a focus on the outer boundaries of the style.

Traditionally, soft rock is thought of as being prevalent in the 1970s through the late 1980s. However, the demarcations for this style of music can not be so easily drawn. In some music from the mid-to-late 1960s, one an hear an incipient soft rock sound emerging as the style slowly evolved, moving into the 1970s.

Also, by and large, it is true that popular music changed dramatically in the transition from the 1980s into the 1990s; there were musicians who remained faithful to the style and continued making soft rock well into the 90s. Considering the work of those musicians, one could think of the finality of the classic soft rock age of music as a slow fade rather than an abrupt terminus.

I wish everyone a happy, safe summer.
