Have you tried "Sapphire and Steel?"

It was made in England in the 70s. In this series, a universal agency, where the beings disguise humans but have supernatural powers, solve mysteries and ghost hauntings. You can say it's like the X-Files, except Mulder and Scully are humans.

The main characters are named Sapphire (Joanna Lumley) and Steel (David McAllum), two of the more natural forces sent by the universal agency. Sometimes more of these beings come and assist like Lead (Val Pringle) and Silver (David Collings).

Cases include an unfitting death like World War I/II soldiers, evil spirits that haunt houses, and places where there is another dimension.

Unfortunately, the series ended abruptly, though you would hope that they at least finish the last season, but no.

By and large, it's still a good series, though pretty old. The thing about this series, is that it's very serious. No chance for humour. Scared the shit out of me too.

Excellent choice! Other brilliant British TV series that are firm faves with me are UFO and Space 1999 (see http://catacombs.space1999.net/ AND http://www.space1999.org/ ) - both created by Gerry & Sylvia Anderson. Space 1999 in particular was very good for scares!

yep and close second is Breaking Bad (2008–2013) - Ratings: 9.5/10

I dont care but I'm digging The Vampire Diaries (2009– ) - Ratings: 8.0/10 - why because one of the episodes if you havent kept up was simply outstanding Season 5, Episode 7 Death and the Maiden - if you havent watched vd and start watching from Season 5 - you would be able to get the drift of the series - tryit - wont hurt - trust me (o;

Dracula (2013– ) - Ratings: 7.4/10 - story line is starting to thread out into some interesting characters

love The Walking Dead (2010– ) - Ratings: 8.7/10 - I know its just acting but I carnt stand Rick Grimes - I think he makes major errors in judgment almost every episode he'll always do something that I find stupid - and it usually results in at least one character fucking dying. O well I guess they need to make bad judgment calls to keep the viewers glued - as they say. But without Daryl Dixon backing thier thick ass's up they'd all be dead or turned.

ummmm - oh yea curently watching too

Almost Human (2013– ) - Ratings: 8.5/10 - one reason first and foremost - the lead guy Karl Urban is from NZ gotta watch it out of loyalty - AND - its not bad

update more later

^^100% agree with that.

Also as far as classics... The Soprano's was my absolute favorite show when it was on TV. Also, Prison Break was a TV series on a few years ago that was good...

I have nothing for you as far as new shows...But a show I've discovered to be hilarious that's been on for awhile is Modern Family. Pretty F-in funny!

While we're talking Cop-shows: you really should get The Shield.
Like Breaking Bad (that has already been mentioned earlier) this show's protagonists are not your usual heroes.
It really is amazing to follow their development throughout the story and how their decisions make you want to tear your hair out Tongue !

TORRENT

^^ Definitely worth a watch if you like trashy sci fi.
I guess someone already said "Farscape" to be the best sci fi, but forgot to add Firefly in the same sentence - so I'll do that.

TORRENT

Also a very awesome show, so here's a TORRENT.

This show is right up there on the top shelf with Boardwalk Empire -> TORRENTS
