Sharing your random maps full of music?

Me, I'm a guy with a soundtrack collection of over 300 movies as well as a bunch of shows and videogames and a bunch of misc music. And somewhere else on my computer I also have a huge random music map full of a lot of glorious tunes, but it makes me think though.

I'm sure most people have their own random music folder which they stuff full of stuff that they love, but those are never shared. To find new music to love, I find that going through people's random maps just like that would be a great way to explore new stuff.

Does anyone have a suggestion where I could and should upload that kind of map of random music as well to encourage others to do the same so that we can share it with the world? It'd be a lot different than googling around, finding different musical albums and downloading them. More efficient in some ways. Music socializing on another level.

Why don't you just create a torrent of that folder of yours that you've "stuffed" full of random songs?

I would label the torrent something interesting though...."157 of my favorite MSC. Songs...." or something like that.

This concept doesn't work in BitTorrent.

It's fine with older "shared folder" systems such as ED2K, where you nominate a folder on your hard drive and the contents of that file are available to others on the filesharing network. You can can add or delete files, and rename them and so on and that's fine.

But with BitTorrent, you have to take a snapshot of the folder, and then seed the torrent. If you delete a file, or rename a file, or even play a file and update the "last played" tags within it, you've fucked your torrent--you won't be able to seed it any more and it will die.

Try SoulSeek. It is a tool much better suited to the what it is you want to do.
