With qbittorrent one can pick the network interface via which it exposes itself to the internet, thus there's no need for a global killswitch.

Yup, I do that on qBittorrent. I require a dummy application to send metadata and some pieces to each client. So I seed a 10 ratio on 2160p and 15 ratio on 1080p to get the swarm going. Then leave rTorrent alone with the manual connection scripts to reach 2G symmetrical throughput through wireguard. The PIA application can only handle 1G total. I also auto cycle ports on rTorrent twice daily to avoid closures. This allows up to 200TB per month distributed.

I generally turn my lappy off before going to bed, but that is more a matter of prolonging its life rather than safe seeding.  I used to run 24/7 when I was concerned about my ratio at a private tracker I still use, but that hasn't been an issue for years now.

I don't own a seedbox but I have a server machine running 24/7 and I found it to be very useful when it comes to seeding,,so I seed 24/7 until I delete the file . Sharing is caring
