SEO Help? Anyone?

ello fellow pirates!

So, I'm starting a little local business as well as a separate/unrelated online store. I'm rather new to SEO, can't afford to hire an agency, but desperately need to get this thing going as I am broke as all get out. Most of my customers will be local.

Pouring over forums, blogs, how-to-websites, downloading applicable videos from my favorite pirate site (& then seeding of course) for months, I've learned some but am still in need of much education. Currently, I'm powering my site via wordpress.

I thought it would be good idea to ask those who are much smarter than myself for advice on where to look & how to learn national & local SEO. Perhaps there are white hat software's that can help? Or maybe you have some awesome sites/blog/sources I've overlooked.

All advice is appreciated & welcome. Thanks! Big Grin

I would advise to keep it as simple as possible. There are literally hundreds of techniques that promise to improve your site's SEO. In my experience, most of them will not have enough impact to even worry about them. Focus on the important ones, improve them and, when done (at some point it will be more or less done), focus on other possible traffic sources such as SMM or Paid advertising.

Basically, you do not want to spend most of your time improving 1% important factors. And I mean 1% as a whole, not individually.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
David
